Time Magazine's Person of the year 2020
« on: December 11, 2020, 01:39:41 pm »
Awarded to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris leaving donald unusually quite given this, his second loss to Biden. The magazine acknowledged that the two have got quite a challenge ahead of them as they try to repair "the fracture in society, the division that has been stoked by trump and his presidency" per Time magazine, bringing the pandemic under control and working on decreasing racial justice per Time magazine. Biden/Harris represents something historic (per Time) beating three other finalists: Dr. Anthony Fauci, the racial justice movement and "and donald trump, who lost the White House race". Time's editor in chief stated the win was "for changing the American Story, for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division, for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world".

Even if a politicians heart is in the right place,if they dont realize by now the only hope for the human race is Gods kingdom that Jesus is king of now, peace will never be achieved.

Time and unforseen occurrence befalls everyone even if you try to do the right thing.

Man will still dominate himself to his own injury.

And remember,Satan and his angels have not been abyssed yet.

I honestly feel like the health care workers who got it...I could see if Biden and Harris were chosen next year, but they were just elected, whereas health care workers put their lives on the lines every day to take care of others!!

Awarded to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ...

This is how many people view the Time Magazine Person of the Year - as an award. In some cases it may approach that connotation, but it is far from being an actual award. It is sometimes bestowed upon absolute villains. Take a historical look at past Time Magazine Persons of the Year - just to name a few that stand out:

1938 - Adolf Hitler
1939 & 1942 - Joseph Stalin
1979 - Ayatollah Khomeini

I am not suggesting that either Biden or Harris are murderous dictators - there have been many peaceful and honorable people given this recognition by Time Magazine as well. My only point is that is is not a prestigious award like so many people seem to regard it these days.

But hey, I guess if Donald Trump could be named Man of the Year in 2016, Joe (and Kamala - can't just pick one) is entitled to be tagged in 2020. If you look back, Time Magazine started handing out this meaningless designation in 1927. From then until now only three U.S. Presidents have NOT been named Time Magazine's Man of the Year = Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover (who were the two Presidents that spanned the first few years of the "award") and Gerald Ford (who was never even elected to office). Every other President from FDR through Nixon and from Carter to now Biden have "won this award" at least once and a few of them more than once.

Just some food for thought as we all regale in the most precious honor and distinction of Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris (who to this point have done absolutely nothing for the American people and the world as a whole, but I honestly and sincerely do hope that they create a legacy of some positive benefit for all of us).

I think you might be familiar with this vocal rock group from the 60s UGP...The Association.

It is truly a joke they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame based on how many records they sold and how talented they are.

Their live album in 1970 will show you how good they were live in concert.

My point is whoever was or is behind the decision they arent in R&RHOF was foolish.

Time takes advantage of a status in an imperfect world.Im not saying they cant get it right. But the only one whos backing counts is Jehovahs and we are told to walk modestly with him.

Its like a beauty pageant. How many times was your winner not picked?Or the MVP in sports?

The showy display of things in a godless world really isnt that important in the grand scheme of things here. But to many others it is their bible or god.

Nothing wrong either with accepting a compliment and being humble about it either.

Remember even Jesus apostles in the beginning argued who was greatest among them and Jesus taught them truth.

I think Fauci should have gotten it this year. He has tried so hard to make people understand.

The list includes four candidates: medical workers who are married dating sites fighting the spread of coronavirus infection, and chief US infectious disease specialist Anthony Fauci, Democratic candidate Joe Biden, incumbent US President Donald Trump, and the Racial Justice Movement, which emerged after the death of an African American George Floyd during his police arrest in Minneapolis.

What are Trump and Biden doing on this list? What did they do other then provide a few laughs while they debated each other?

Jehovahs organization deserves to be mentioned while they feed their members spiritually worldwide and instruct how to do so and be safe while they carry out their work from God and Jesus while staying safe in a dark/Satanic world.

Jesus said he would be with his followers till the end of this system of things and Gods people have displayed that listening to him worldwide.

Many hope that mankind and Satan will figure it out. That will never come to pass.6000 yrs proves that.

I'm going to assume that you are joking in asking your question -- that you understand what I am saying, and are just looking for a clever way of getting in a playful jab at me!

You cant be serious!!You are the one that  said Biden and Harris have done nothing!!

I think those that support them or dislike Trump have felt they did plenty by winning the election.

I know what U meant when U said they did nothing cos they arent in till 1/20.

Just like Trumps supporters cry fraud and Bidens say NOT.

Back and forth.

Makes me think if Gore put up stink Trump has he may have won.But again just my opinion,i dont really know.

And i am sure many such as yourself will have Biden under magnifying glass when he takes office.

Save your breath with me.In long run there will always be opinions on the kind of job man is doing governing and everyone wont be happy.

I dont care for Trump as i said a zillion times cos who he is and you know why <Russia>and how he set example with virus.

I dont think Biden will do anything RE Russia either or MAGA.Maybe at least he wont annoy me as much as Trump.

Yanks win World Series in 1977 Billy Martin is a hero.In 1978 they are 14 games behind Boston in middle of the yr he gets fired. What have you done for me lately scenario.

Trump inherits good economy from Obama and kills Bin Laden. You have an idiot here that hates Obama.Pandemic hits Trump costs him election. What have you done for me lately?

Gods people show the world Eccl 8:9 RE man cant govern.Majority could care less untill God will react and then it will be too late just like many examples are in bible.

“This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”—JOHN 17:3.

I give TIME credit for writing    "for changing the American Story, for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division, for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world".  Their readership is wide, so I  hope it will give people an uplift from the dark year we have been through.  I would personally have liked Dr Fauchi to have been chosen.  He has put up with so much and yet stood his ground and held h is honor.  Too bad they couldn't have put all 3 of them as the "people" of 2020.
