Off-Topic / Re: pregnancy tips

I can't really say much since I've never been pregnant, but I agree with everyone on stop trying.  You are probably stressing your body out.  Do something romantic, go dancing or whatever you enjoy doing, and that should help relax you and take your mind off having a kid.  Then, you've taken the pressure off the situation and your body can relax as well and work the way it's designed to.

I am not worried.  If something happens, I'll deal with it.  If not, I wouldn't want to go through all this stress for nothing.

Most people like to point out that the Mayan calendar ends on that day.  I'm sorry, their calendar is like 5000 years long I believe.  Maybe the guy just got tired and figured no one would care after then.  A second thought is, our calendar ends on December 31 every year.  And then it restarts and we call it a new year.  Perhaps their calendar repeats every 5000 years, not every year like ours.  There is so much stuff we don't know so I'm not going to worry right now.

Depends.  The place by my house isn't that far so I normally give like 10-15%.  However, when I'm at my job, it's a bit more of a drive so I'll give them closer to 20%.  Another place I used to go to would charge an extra 2 dollars to have it delivered.  I always wondered if the delivery person got that or if it was to help cover gas so, on occasion, I'd give them an extra dollar just so I make sure they get something.

I probably cook bacon more of the two.  Personally I prefer them both equally, but I haven't found a sausage that I like that much outside of a restaurant.

I think it all depends on where it is, what it is of, what type of job/world your in, and things like that.

If it's a tattoo that no one sees cause it's on the back or something, yeah, I don't think people really care.  If it's like up and down their arms or on the neck, that might not be as accepted since it's seen constantly and might be off putting.

In general, I think people are relaxing about tattoos, but it's still seem as odd if you get a strange design or something.

Ok, this is sort of a rant so I just want to put that out there before I get started.

Some background information:
I'm 22, just graduated college in December (major in Computer Science focusing on Game Design), and have been trying to figure out what I want to do next.

It was 4 o'clock in the morning and my mom walks in and asks when I plan on going to bed.  I'm sitting there working on the storyline of game I'm creating for my portfolio so I say "once I finish this thought".  She responds with "do you think you're talking to a friend" and later says I had a tone when I said that.

My first thought is I'm over 21 so why is it an issue that I'm staying up late?  My sister (26) has to go to school tomorrow at 11 and went to bed at 3 and my mom doesn't say a thing about that.  My second thought is I'm sitting in my room, I'm not out at a bar or anything.  I'm quietly typing on my computer with my headset on so it's not like I'm making a ton of noise or anything.  My third thought, and the one that sorta bugs me the most, is the fact I've never really done anything all that bad in my life.  I don't drink, don't smoke, don't do drugs, don't steal or do anything illegal.  Never caused or been in a car accident.  The only friends I really hang out with have either been friend of the family (our dads met in high school and our families have been friends since) or they are my high school friends (all of which have met my family).  In either case, all we do is go out to dinner and talk, possibly see a movie, go bowling, or stay at each others house and play games.  I once stayed out past midnight (normally when my parents want me home) but I asked if I could see a movie and told them it would run late and they said it was fine, AND even mentioned I didn't need to ask.

Now, obviously there is that "Their house, their rules" thing I'm sure someone will point out.  However, my dad has come down for work at 7 in the morning and seen me working on whatever and doesn't say a thing about me being awake all night (he knows it's all night cause I don't get up that early without a reason).  He normally just asks what I'm working on and then says have a good day.  So it's not like there is a rule that I have to be in bed at a certain hour or anything.

Also, it's not like I'm just being a bump on a log or anything.  Since I've graduated, I've gone to the store almost every week to get lunch meat and whatever other groceries we need.  My sister and I share the responsibility of taking care of our dog.  I've done the dishes (and at the very least I always clean my dishes) and even helped with laundry.  And after all that I work on my game portfolio so I can get a job later.

Anyway, my main point with this is how it drives me crazy when my mom treats me like a kid.  I understand she's my mother and everything, and that mothers are always mothers, but I don't quite get why I'm yelled at for things that really aren't all that bad to begin with when all the rest of the time my mom will brag about how good her kids are.  Also, I should mention that she is just heading to bed at 4 am when she talked to me.

Is it just me or is this overkill for supposedly having a tone and staying up late, especially since I'm an adult?

To anyone who reads this, thanks for bearing with me.  I don't like to bug my friends or family with my issues so I don't really have any other way to get these things out.

Off-Topic / Re: No Valentine Gift

Well, that could go a few ways.  Perhaps he forgot and remembered later and got you something to sorta make up for it.  Or, he possibly didn't want to follow the crowd, and decided to celebrate your relationship on his own terms, not on the date most other couple celebrate.  Or perhaps he didn't realize you really wanted to do something for Valentine's and tried to recover from that when he realized it later.

I'm sure there are other reason, but here are a few I could think of.

No. Generally when you agree to be in a relationship, there is a non-verbal agreement normally that you two are off the market.  If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be with someone.

Agreed.  I do the surveys on other sites for that reason.  Even if you just get a cent for trying, it's so much better than nothing.

is it wierd that even if make a refferal bonus dollar for the day I make sure that I do the dailys and other thing to bulk up my offers just so I know I did something from my own merrit.I also make sure that I have more than 15 in offers just to have cushion just in case some of the offers are revoked am I doing to much ?

I wouldn't think so premar16.  Now, I haven't cashed out yet, but I would rather be guaranteed to get the money I earned then think I'll get it and have it be denied later.

Suggestions / Re: who save money or spent it
« on: February 15, 2012, 04:02:29 pm »Message ID: 491211
I save everything.  Always been that way since I was a little kid.  It paid off for me better before the economy went down, but it still helps.

One thing I'd like to point out though is if you are using your money on things you absolutely need (food, clothes, rent, etc) then that's not exactly being a spender (at least in my opinion).  It's only when it's something that extra and you could live without it that you should be worried.

Another one of my "it depends" situations.

If I'm out at a restaurant, water and soda.
If I'm at a friends house, soda, iced tea, or water
If I'm at my house, 99% of the time its milk with the occasional soda, shake, or iced tea.

Also depends what I'm eating cause obviously you don't want certain taste together.

Off-Topic / Re: Are people saving there tax $ or spending?

I have always put mine into my savings account initially though it goes to pay for most of my gifts.  I have 2 birthdays in February, 3 in March, and another in April that I try to get presents for so I think my refund more replenishes what I already took out.

I normally do the daily email (if I remember), then PTC, then look for videos.  Recently I've been using the forum more and so I've been spending some time here.  I used to do the surveys but after being rejected a few times I've slowed doing those.  It's amazing how even without the surveys and offers though that you can slowly build up money.  Doing the offers sure does make it a lot easier.
