That sounds like a grand way of doing it!! I crashed on the Ice and have been on a break for months and am starting my own small business from my home. And loving it... always on vacation when you're doing something you love!

I would like one or the other. The past couple years that my father has been ill has really stressed me out. I help care for him, manage his finances, cook, etc. I nice little break for some "me" time would be nice.

Escapes  are nice in that they sometimes allow you to stop, smell the roses and the re- prioritize what is or is not really that important. I like them both but agree vacation requires more planning and saving of funds.

I can go two towns over and consider it a vacation as long as I'm in different surroundings.  The vibe of a nice hotel room makes me relaxed and gets my mind thinking clearly.
