Move to a Saturday instead of a specific day? Thoughts on that....

I agree that would be best... like the last Saturday of the month would be fantastic.  Around here, there are tons of parties & events during the week-end before Halloween when Halloween is on the week-day.  I get only a small amount of trick-or-treaters when it is on a week-day (except when it is on a Friday, of course).

No should stay on oct 31st like always. yes sometimes kids go to school with make up on the next day couldn't wash it off. why do that now. my kids always went to school the next day. may have been up a little later but survived.

I think it should stay Oct 31st.  You're only allowed to trick or treat between certain hours anyways, usually 6:00-8:00.

I could be swayed either way - I like the tradition of the 31st but I like the fact of a day off after and more time to trick or treat on a Saturday.

I think as tradition it suits it best to stay on the 31st. Would be cool if kids could get the following day off of school! But I know that wouldn't fly well.  :P :) Plus besides the actual trick or treating, there's lots to do all month long at any time for the kids to enjoy.  :pumpkin: :cat: :moon:

I think it should stay the same.  Tradition is good to have in this ever changing world.

I wouldn't mind it moving to a Saturday, it would make sense for the kids. I always hated when I was a kid and Halloween fell on a weekday, not really because of trick or treating but because it was just a bummer to have school that day.

I do like the tradition of the 31st, so I lean a little more that way.

I think Halloween should continue to be celebrated on Halloween Day/Night, October 31.   The kids go out trick-or-treating during set hours which give them plenty of time to gather treats.  If you want to host a bigger party, then host that on a Friday or Saturday night if you're concerned about kids staying up later.
