Help with TV mounting needed
« on: June 05, 2026, 12:41:12 am »
I finally bought a new 65 inch TV during the sales last week after my old one started flickering. Got it home, unboxed it, and then realized my old wall mount from my previous TV does not fit the new bolt pattern at all. I tried using a stud finder but honestly I am not sure I am doing it right. The last thing I want is to drill into the wrong spot and have this thing crash down in the middle of the night or worse hit a wire or pipe. I have been putting off calling anyone because I figured I could do it myself but now I am stressed and the TV is just sitting on the floor. So has anyone here actually hired a professional just to mount a TV on drywall with wood studs, and what should I look for in a TV mounting service and roughly how much should I expect to pay for a basic install without any fancy hiding of cables in the wall?

I had the same worry with my own TV. A buddy told me about a local guy who does TV mounting Toronto. He found the studs in a few minutes and had the whole thing up in under an hour. Cost me about 150. No stress, no holes in the wrong spot. Worth it just to stop worrying about the TV falling. Just make sure whoever you hire has insurance. That is what I did and it worked out fine.
