I feel the same way.  We sometimes do not realize how fortunate we are in this country until a disaster like this occurs.

I posted a lot of comments regarding the HAITI tragedy on CNN but haven't gotten many replies to my comments. I wanted to know where the $$ that tourists spent from the cruise ships was going. I went to Haiti in 1989 and it was destitute BUT the cruise ship stopped there anyway. I was appalled by the poverty and saddened.   There is so much corruption in that governement that the people never see the money!

If people "wasted" their time on every natural disaster in the world, we would all be wrought with greif and never get things done. I feel bad, I donated money, but let's move on to the next thing and see what nature has in store.
