The fusion cash site is safe, but some of the sites connected with it aren't. Don't download any toolbars, software, etc. unless you are sure the site is safe. McAfee give each site a rating.

This. This website didn't give you the virus, and isn't unsafe. Some website you went to through here did.

Have you tried another browser? Firefox is good.  Are you connecting behind a router? What is the status when you rightclick the network adapter and click status. There could be many things causing this problem but I doubt it is that virus. If norton didn't flag the file as a virus then how do you know it is? If it truely is something to try to steal your identity it would need to "phone home" to send back info which would require an internet connection. Even the basic firewall in Windows should block something like that. Whatever the problem is I highly doubt that something from the FC site caused it.

Honestly as long as you don't download anything you should be perfectly fine.

I have been using this site for several months now. I run good antivirus scans on a perodic basis, which one must do. I have news because no matter where you go or what you do on the internet, there are phishing, trojans, worms everywhere, in your email, everywhere, no where is safe and that is why is it important to run a good antivirus software on your computer,, I had to pay for my laptop to be fixed because it had a virus on it, costed 200 dollars to do it at best buy, but I let my antivirus overlap since I had just purchased the computer, as long as a person has good software their is no need to worry. I know alot about computers and know what I am talking about.

What anti-virus do you recommend?

My computer is messed up bad. I am on my older computer right now. As for the people who said they ran virus scans, I did the same thing it scanned right through infostealer.snifula.b and many other suspicious file names. It did not detect any virus and did not say anything about them. It was just dumb luck that I opened the scan and saw the file it was scanning through (info stealer). I have norton antivirus that i update daily. So chances are if you dled anything from this site and run a virus scan your antivirus software won't even bring it to your attention. And whoever said I was ripped off for the cost of rebooting my pc... I never said I paid anything to reboot my pc.

Actually, I don't think you really have a virus.... We had a server at work that actually was attacked by a virus and so after cleaning it out, I ran Norton and watched as it scanned a bunch of files with very suspicious names in it. In fact, there was one file that it just seemed to spend a lot of time on, yet it never was flagged as a virus! WTF! Thinking the virus may have tampered with the Norton installation before I could remove it, I installed a fresh copy of MalwareBytes AntiMalware and ran the scan in safe-boot mode. Nothing was found. I also tried some other antivirus software and also found no threats. I uninstalled Norton, then reinstalled it, ran a scan and watched as it went through all of those suspicious files once again. And again, it never flagged any viruses. I Googled the one file name and it showed that it was indeed a virus. Now this was getting really annoying; Norton seemed to be scanning these files that were viruses but not flagging it, and none of the other antivirus programs found anything either. I was spending days working on this problem! And to top it off, if I tried to go to the directory where the file was supposed to be located, I couldn't find that file!  :BangHead:  :BangHead:  :BangHead:

I eventually found in a forum someone that had something very similar happening to them. I quickly read the comments to see if someone had found the answer. What I learned was that Norton was not actually scanning those files after all! What was actually happening was that as Norton is running the scan, it will list the threats that it is looking for, not the files on your computer that it is scanning (at least in the beginning part of the scan). The person that found this out actually recorded a movie of the screen during the scan. When they slowed down the replay, they noticed that every file was the name of a virus (or some other malware). This got them wondering and so they called up Norton help desk and it was confirmed that the program was indeed displaying the names of the files it is searching for, not the actual files on the computer.

So to think that I had wasted all of that time chasing down a phantom problem! hopefully this is what you are experiencing and that you don't actually have a virus after all! Good luck!

Your right Stephanie, Nortan is stupid.... scared the crap outta me. My computer was acting very slow and i couldnt get online probably becuase of an offer I dled. So I just copied the files that were only on my account on the computer made a new account and deleted the messed up one. Everything works fine now. I think someone should start a thread about what offers credit and dont require you to dl anything. Im staying far far away from any offers that require dling.
