ebay.. ugh!!@
« on: March 07, 2010, 08:42:15 pm »
okay so i sold an item on ebay and when the buyer recieved it he said he was unhappy with the item,,
he said he wanted a full refund or a new item sent to him..
i denied both since if i would issue a refund, i would be out the shipping fees i paid..
afterwards, he opened a cass dispute on paypal, and paypal granted him the refund as long as he returned the item
so i messaged him saying that paypal has the money and not me..
later on, he said he wasnt going to pay to ship the item back to me but that he still wants his money back or a new item..

so what do you guys think his problem is?
what should i do?

to me, it seems like he wants both the refund and the item cuz he doesnt wanna send it back,,
how does he expect to get a refund without sending the item back!!

he has two more days to ship the item and if he doesnt paypal wont grant him a refund..
does that mean i get the money or whaaa?
and after that happens can he still ask for a refund?
and should i continue to negotiate with him after that..

thnkas..

Been thru your exact situation several times actually. Just wait the 2 days and if he refuses to send the item back, at his expense, they will find him in default and release the "hold" on your money. ::) Hope that helps out a 'lil.........

I never had any problems with ebay. I always state no refunds and other details for my protection.

But like stated I would just wait the two days and see what the buyer does.

If ebay said he has to ship it back, and if he doesn't ship it back in the timeframe they gave him, than they should close the dispute and you will keep the money. After the 2 days you should send a copy of the emails to ebay of him saying he is NOT shipping the item back. Also when you listed the item did you say you will give refunds or not? (You have to say weather you do or not before you list and item). If you said no refunds I don't see the problem at all. If you said yes refunds, wait 2 days and contact ebay.

I am a seller on Ebay, and yes, if your buyer doesn't submit proof of shipping your item back (tracking number) then after the time frame the buyer has is up, then the money will be released back into your account. The buyer will also not be able to open another case and you will be done with the person for good.
Also, make sure you put them problem bidders on block so they won't be able to do this to you again. If you are unsure how, just type block bidders in the help section.
Hope this helps.

thanks.. this cleared up alot.. but can he take any legal action against me?
no he can't take any legal action against you because he failed to do his part in supplying proof he shipped item back. He can't keep your item and get his money back

cooll.. thanks.,,. ill let you guys now what happens

I had a situation where I had to ship baby formula to a buyer. Turns out they never updated their account after they had moved so I shipped it to their old address..They e-mailed me saying they had not gotten their stuff.. E-bay and paypal both said because I  followed the rules and used the address listed it was their own fault
