At what age did you start working?

I started when I was 16. I worked in my dad's clinic for a while while I attended school. It worked out very well for the family.

I didn't get my first job until I was 18 years old, just after graduating high school.  But if its a part time job and it doesn't get in the way of their schooling I don't see why it would be a problem to start earlier.  I think 16 would be a good age.  It will teach them independence.  And they need to learn how to adapt in the work field and it would be a great opportunity for them.

I start working after I graducated from college, I was  23 years old, the first job salary is very very little

I started working at a Lumber Mill where my dad was a diesel mechanic.  I was 16 and minimum wage at the time was $2.10/hr!

Technically I started working at 14 but it was a company my parents owned so I'm not sure if you'd count that or not. Otherwise 16.

16 - I actually couldn't wait to get a job and had an interview less than a week after my 16th birthday!  MONEY MONEY MONEY!

Thirteen cause  i had to lie to waffle house and say i was 15 so i could work there it worked for about 6months and then they let me go and let me come back when i was 16 to work and i worked for them till i was 18, loved that job

I started to work when I was 19.  I had just graduated from high school.  And got married at the same time.  I retired 8 years ago this March and I had to get out and find me another job a year later.  SS did not go far enough.  I am still working and I am 69 years old.  I thank God I am able to work now.

I was 20 when I had my first job...I was going to get one when I got out of school but couldn't I found out I was pregnant with my son...then was gonna get one after he was almost a year old and couldn't my daughter decided to pop in.

I started working when I was 16 and a junior in High School.   I only worked a couple of hours a day during the week.  Luckily the place I worked was closed on weekends!

I started working when I was 17, and ended up there for 5 yrs. It payed for my trip to  Zagreb, Croatia....
