Heavy Cream Substitute?

Hi All,

I would like to make sour cream from reconstituted milk.  However, the recipe calls for, in part, heavy cream.  Is there a reasonable substitute for the heavy cream in this application?

I would try carnation milk, it's worth a try. good luck

That is not a substitute for heavy cream ...

The only "substitute" for heavy cream is 3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup butter (NOT margarine), melted and cooled BUT it will not work for every thing. It will NOT work properly for sour cream!
