Did You Know--Carrot Consumption in the US

American consume more carrots than any other people in the world.  On average, the US consumer consumes 11.5 pounds of carrots a year.  This may also due to the increase focus on healthy eating as mentioned in a recent Trader Joe ad.

I've never liked carrots. I think it's something psychological, because I also hate the color orange and oranges!  I do enjoy carrot cake, though, but that's a little different!

Wow that is really surprising to me.  I cant say that I contribute to the carrot consumption because I hate them, cooked or raw.  I do love carrot cake.

I LOVE carrots! But I love most veggies, I prefer veggies over fruits actually.

Ditto here, I probably consume 0.1 pounds a year fromng the flakes in salads that I didn't see and pick out.

Wow, that surprises me. I love Carrots, raw and cooked. When I was a kid I would dip them in sugar instead of Ranch dressing. Maybe I'm part Horse or something. Thanks for the info, it's good to know that the US eats some healthy food.

I prefer my carrots in cake. I do eat them in salads, soups or as an appetizer.

I love peoples comments.  I always wonder what responses I'll get when I put up posts like Carrot Consumption in the US.  Seems like there are lots of members here who don't like carrots.  So I'm guessing those that like carrots are making up for those who really don't like carrots.  I'm just wondering--that's all.

I totally agree with Americans consuming a lot of carrots, but do we eat it plain? Well, I eat it plain; but most Americans does it! That is just almost worst than not eating any carrot at all.

I like carrots.  I used to have a juicer and carrots and oranges and make carrot and orange juice.  I like to eat them raw or cooked.  When they are cooked they taste sweet to me.
