Muslim Holiday for Boston-area School System Next Year: What is your opinion?

I don't see the harm in adding an extra holiday as long as its not like a month long, they could just add the extra week on at the end of the school year like they do for snow days around here.  But, as long as the schools do the same for other religious holidays.

They reason that since there is "Good Friday" and Jewish holidays that it is only fair they add this holiday for them.

The more holidays from school, the better!!  I am all for it, no problem at all!!!

IMO, I think this has more to do with the education of the kids in our country than just some petty religious thing. We're falling behind in that area when it comes to the rest of the world, so (I'm sorry to say it, tzs) MOAR SKOOL!

Why not more religious holiday less summer laziness in return more school per year. I can understand giving kids a break but I think summer vacation is a bit long it just drives parents nuts and gives kids more opportunity to get into trouble.  I know around my neighborhood I cant wait for summer to be over and the brats back in school.  I would be all for longer school years or even changing all schools to go by quarters rather than two semesters.  Which is another reason we choose to home-school so that she can get more education and less time to be lazy.
