Does any know if the economy improving or declining?
« on: October 16, 2010, 04:44:37 am »
I'm concerned about the job market and our finances. It's very difficult to find a job that pays more than $7.55 an hour. I believe that amount is for teenagers who work afterschool. And they want to make a little money to make it easier for their parent's. A person with a family should be making $35,000 to $45,000 a year or more. We're working to pay bills. We can't enjoy anything, because we always have expenses. We could never ge ahead and live comfortably without worrying.I hope that everything changes soon. ??? ??? ??? ???

@emerald6786 - Well, I don't know what to tell you on that......the economy is (at my rate) in a 50% at the moment.  If you take a day...lock yourself in your room and start making some very valuable blogs about Fusion Cash!  Then, you could start cashing out with $1000+ each month!  I'm going to do that next weekend when my parents leave from visiting....I'll take a whole day off of work and just make heck of a lot of valuable forum posts (to lots of websites) and hope to make some beautiful $$!  I make $12K each month..but...mainly don't spend it (except on bills and gas of course lol) but at the moment FC will be when I need my beautiful Ford F350...I drive a beeautiful Toyota Camry 99' with 382K miles and still hasn't stopped me!  Toyota and FC Rock the house!
I have ways of making money that you know nothing of.

My husband is not working at all and would be thrilled to find a job that pays $7.55 an hour. That is better than nothing at all. But I agree, it is not enough to raise a family. I will be glad when the economy and job market picks up.

There are a lot of jobs that pay the mininum wage some pay higher. Most of the jobs are being consumed by people that have been in the same field with enough experience to work there job.

It's been really tough for me to find a job at all...
Though, being a 20 year old college student with next to no work experience, you wouldn't hire me either  :-

According to some economists out there, the economy is far worse than what we're actually seeing, especially numbers containing unemployment. The number most quoted doesn't include people who have dropped off of unemployment benefits or people who have stopped looking for work. If you look at the U10 number which does include these people we're at about (according to last months numbers) around 15% as opposed to the 10% that is praised by the administration.

There are quite a few factors that are contributing to this reason, the biggest, companies are scared to hire employees due to not understanding the new healthcare law, or the proposed expiration of the tax cuts. This makes lots of things a problem, due to the housing market will not increase either until there is less unemployment. It seems now a days lots of people are flat out scared, and I could potentially see that the dollar completely imploding. If that would be the case, and say China no longer buys our 10yr yeilds, then we are officially in my opinion screwed. Thing is, if this does happen, we risk putting ourselves into a catastrophic war. I mean, seriously if China stops and says "Hey pay us back" we as a country could easily say "hey, here's what we're paying you back with; an ICMB". Granted, that is worst case scenario, but well, it potentially could happen.

Job growth won't happen until we see companies that are "too big to fail" actually fail. The free market can not and will not survive with constant bailouts. It'll hurt in that case, but the hurt will be far less in the long run in the situation we're currently in.

Great topic! Here is how I see it... The numbers we get from the news outlets are fudged. The actual unemployment rate is probably double what they say it is. Fact is the reported unemployment number only includes those currently drawing or who have filed, not those that were never eligible nor the ones that no longer have eligibility. Overseas job shifting and outsourcing is at an all time high and will continue to be utilized by any major company in the U.S. Illegal workers take ALOT of hard working LEGAL Americans jobs for cut-throat compensation, that is a HUGE problem in itself. It's not getting any better on "main street" as well, sooooo... Taking all this into consideration i'd have to say it's still DECLINING!  :angry7:

Well, in my opinion jobs go overseas due to insane tax rates placed on buisnesses is what drives them overseas. The government honestly created the majority of these problems and I'm not talking about government in the last 10 years. I'm speaking as a whole and it will continue to decline until we fix the problems that the government made. I find it appaling that the federal reserve is allowed to do what they do and yet we can't get a real audit of it.

Who cares if the economy is  :)  improving or  :( declining? What really matters is how much you make and how much you could be making! I agree $7.55 an hour is not enough because everything costs so much. Try to find what really pays working from home. Some companies are not going to share their profits with you...just think about it!

hi, yeah, times are tough right now.  I hope the economy gets better within a couple years or so.  We must solve our own problems, instead of solving other countries problem. I mean, we can do so much for the world...

What do you do for 12000/month harleyy2?  That's a huge amount of money.  You don't even need to be on here making that kind of money!  Mostly I'm just jealous.  I have a college degree and can't get anyone to call me back!

economy is still bad, but i guess we are doing better than what Europe has to face now.  Can't wait for the economy to be strong again, if ever.
