Hi Dianne,

Are you starting a blog on FC?  If so I'll try to stop by and visit.

Julie,

I know what you mean about pets losing their owners.  It's sad for them too.  I don't have too much time left for FC post this morning.  I spent too much time posting stupid stuff to my facebook page.   :P

Wishing you and yours a great day!

Kim,

Aahh, it's not stupid stuff!!  Your friends (including me) and family enjoy what you put on there!

How is Cleo doing?

I'm going on my monthly trek today to get my Xolair shots.  I wanted to peek in here before I leave.  Hope your day goes well with your classes.  "See" ya later!

Julie  :)

Dianne,

I'll also check into your blog.  I agree that FC has helped a lot in many ways!  Have a great day!  :)

Shots and stuff
« Reply #347 on: June 10, 2011, 01:08:40 pm »
Cleo is holding her own.  She will drink some water but is barely eating.  We are going to give her a spray down with the hose tonight.  Her bowels are lose and the flies are bothering her.  She doesn't try to come in the house.  She is staying pretty much in the garage or breezeway.  I think she knows and is doing what dogs do.  I hope she just sleeps away.  She doesn't seem to be in any pain.

It seems those shots are helping you doesn't it?  How is the Ipad going for your hubby?

I'm going to try to get some kayaking in this weekend.  I have a test to study for too but must find ME time!  I'm supposed to go to the track tomorrow and doing timing for a motorcycle race too.  Don't know if I can work that one in though as my daughter wants me to babysit for her boyfriends kids so they can attend a wedding.  Too much to do and not enough hours or energy.

I'm really sorry about Cleo.  I feel for her.  Like you said, if it's her time I hope she'll go in her sleep.  I hate to see animals in pain.

Kayaking sounds like something fun and different.  I hope you get to go - that would be some great "me" time!!  The motorcycle race timing seems different, too.  You have the most interesting things around you to do or be a part of!!!

The shots are still kicking in and helping some.  I still don't have any sign of bronchitis (since Jan.), so that is a big plus!!  My complexion is even looking better - more color and less of the darkness and puffiness of my eyes.  Friends have made comments just this week about that.  I am having an asthma flare-up though.  My breathing is off and I'm coughing more (not the congested but the hard/dry cough.)  My peak flow reading was 10 points less than the last 3 months' readings.  She has me on my inhaler and/or nebulizer every 4 hours for several days.  She thinks some of the problem is probably the smoke that is here and down there where I travel to get the shots.  I'm supposed to stay in as much as possible for a few days until the smoke lessens.  There are a couple of new fires down there (about 2 hours away) and near here in a couple of closer counties from ours.  No rain in the forecast either for a few more days.

With everything you have going on this weekend, I hope you get a lot accomplished and some "me" time as well. Talk with you soon!

Julie  :)

Julie,

I would imagine your complexion is doing better if you are getting more oxygen to your cells.  I hadn't really thought of that before but it makes sense.  I know when my allergies are kicking up I get really dark circles under my eyes.  The pollen count is down a bit here because most of the flowering trees and shrubs have spent themself.  I know too what you mean about the fires.  That is why I avoid burning leaves or brush or even sitting around a campfire.  Every time I do I get terribly congested or even a sinus infection.

I got really sick a couple of years ago camping out because of sitting around the fire and having the smoke drift over our tent all night.

Scoring for the race is out.  I have to babysit Amya until 1, drive to my other daughter's house and watch her boyfriends two kids, while they attend a wedding today.  My son and his girlfriend are supposed to come up there to visit me while I'm watching those kids.  Tomorrow at 9 we are planning the kayak "coffee" float and then going from 2-5 to a winery to watch a friends trio play.  Then home, study for a test and start the week again.

Trying to mix some pleasure into the weekend but hoping it doesn't affect my test scores.  It's hard squeezing everything in!

For sure, you are busy with the kids this weekend.  I'm glad your son is visiting with you some, too.  It's always nice to visit with our own!

Call me naive or ignorant, lol, but what exactly is a kayak "coffee" float?  That puts several scenes in my mind just by the title of that, lol!  Since I've never been kayaking or know anyone who has, I'm not familiar with any of the terms.

You talked about the winery and watching friends trio play.  Here is another naive question about what that is!!  I asked hubby if he had heard of it and he hasn't either.  I could look it up and use my fingers and brain but would rather ask you.  Forgive me for not knowing what these things are - we just don't seem to hear of those things down here!  We do have tubing at the springs, horse polo, rodeos, etc.  I guess it depends on where you live, the terrain, weather, etc.!

You'll do fine on your test, I just know it!  I think you know it deep down, yourself, or you would be really fretting about finding the extra time to study - you go, girl!!!!  I'll pray for you like I used to pray for my tests - that when I knew I studied but was unsure of myself, that I would be guided to the right answers!  I don't mind the multiple choice because of trying to narrow down the choices!

Okay, enough of me rambling on - sorry about that!  Maybe I should go back and erase most of it,  but it's like we're having a conversation online/typed and you get to see how rambley I  can really get!!  I'll catch up some more later - I've kept you busy here enough!!!

kayak coffee float and wineries
« Reply #351 on: June 12, 2011, 04:08:55 pm »
Hi Julie,

First off let me say that the kayak coffee float didn't take place.  Its cold here today, only in the sixties and the sky was full of rain clouds.  Don't feel naive about not knowing what the coffee float is.  A friend has a coffee house in the town where we kayak.  On the mornings we start out early he comes to the launch and sets up a coffee brewing station.  He serves coffee, lattes and cappacinos before we go out on the water.

The winery is where they grow grapes and serve wine and beer.  There is a restaurant there and the band usually sets up on the patio or a small nook in the restaurant and you can eat dinner and have a drink while you're listening.  That didn't happen either.  We got to talking and goofing around at the house and I just wanted to get home.

We relaxed in the hot tub a bit though and went to do some bargain shopping at the Salvation army store.  I got a cute top and a pair of shoes.  Something to perk me up this week!  Took the kids for a sundae and went for a long ride down along the river.  I took a friend with me who has been dealing with some family issues and she was thrilled to get away from the house for a night and just relax.  I'm glad she went as I think it did her a world of good.

I'm tired though and even though its only 7 I think I'm going to go lay down and read.  I probably won't last more than a couple of pages.  TTYL,

KIm

I am also 56 and I am retiring soon to stay home and take care of an ill family member. Fusion Cash allows me to pick up extra cash while staying close to my loved ones. I adore gardening and knitting and reading about travel. I also love to surf the internet.

Hi, Keauhou, it's nice to meet you!  You are right about FC helping to earn some extra cash.  I hope your ill family member will be okay.  I love gardening and flowers, too, but my asthma won't let me get out into the soil and heat much at all.  I've never knitted but do counted cross-stitch and have crocheted some in the past.  I hope to "see" you again soon!  Hope your weekend is going well for you!  :)

Kim,

The kayak coffee float makes perfect sense since you explained it to me.  That's really neat what your friend does for everyone before the kayaking.  Sorry it didn't happen this weekend for you.

The winery sounds interesting with the restaurant and the band playing. I would like to visit a winery one day if I ever have an opportunity.

That ride down the river sounds really nice and relaxing. It seems to have been a great idea for your friend to go with you.  I'd like to go on that one, lol!

Cutting it short tonight - I'm tired tonight, too.  Rough weekend with the asthma shots plus the asthma flare-up.  I'm still on the inhaler/nebulizer every 4 hours.  I'm also on my codiene cough medicine which makes me drowsy.

Good luck on your test and hope you have a very productive week!  "See" you soon!

Julie  :)

I'm 27yrs old, I work full-time at a Public Library, have been there for 8yrs. I love to read, go bowling, play piano and harmonica. I live in the deep south and I hate the hot & humid weather so, going outside here is not fun.

I totally agree with you!  I do not like the major heat we get down here in the south.  So it really takes away from the desire to go out in it much unless I have to or it's very early in the morning with a nice breeze.

Working in a library would be a fun job!  Like you, I love to read!!  I'm not too good at bowling but enjoy it with family and friends.  I also play the piano, and voice was my major in college (as was music and education.)  You don't hear of too many people who can play the harmonica!  I dabble at it but would love to play it more - with my asthma, I just don't have enough breath.  I do play the guitar, and enjoy it a lot.

Hope to "talk" with you again in here!  Have a nice week!  :)

Hi keauhou,

I'm glad you stopped by to say hello.  I too hope all will be well with your family member.  It's always nice hearing from another knitter!  What type of things do you like to knit?  About all I do with knitting anymore is scarves and hats.  I just don't seem to have the time or paitence to tackle larger projects these days.

I hope you'll stop by often.  Wishing you a wonderful day.

Hi kbagwell,

Wow you sound talented.  I share several of your interests but never learned harmonica.  I love hearing harmonica music though.  Neil Youngs harmonica parts always captured my attention.

I'm not real big on going out in the real hot weather either.  Unless I can put my feet in some cool water I avoid being outside too long when it's really hot.

Hope you'll stop by often and become part of our little "blog family".

Enjoy your day.

Julie,

Sorry to hear you're suffering again.  I was hoping the newest shot would be helping you.  Just take care of Julie and think good thoughts toward good health.

I too am cutting this short this morning so I can get a little more studying done before class.  The weekend just flew!  I'm tired just thinking about 5 more days of school.  I will get a nice break at the end of the month.  I'll be off school for ten days between July 1 and the 10th.  Yippee!
