I sure hope things turn out okay.  It is just so wrong for what she has done to your family and your poor son caught in the middle.  It is sad that the house won't be able to stay within your family.

I'm glad the smoke is clearing.  Have the fires been put out?

I'm babysitting today but hoping to get to the Blues fest this evening.  I stopped at a couple of flea markets yesterday and bought a nice outdoor flower pot for 3 dollars that would have been about 30 new in the store and some good cucumbers.  I did do a little pool time too.  I might take Amya in the pool for a while today.

Can't believe the break is coming to an end!

Kim,

It went okay today - the shots are making me a little lightheaded and shaky today.  All of the remaining items were packed up to bring back up here.  We did find out from the next door neighbor that DIL "borrowed" his lawn mower and apparently "forgot" to return it to him.  He's trying to find her and wanted to know how he could.  Since she changed all the phone numbers we don't even know (except through our son.)  I spoke with the police officer on the case today.  I told him our son was paying the value for her and her mom's "new appliances."  He said he would keep it open until November when our son gets back and if they don't pay it back he would like to know.  I feel bad that he's paying for their theft, but I hope those 2 (DIL and her mom) realize that they could have been arrested and that they'll think twice before trying something like this again.  When you think about it, if they both had been arrested, our son would have asked us to take care of the girls.  That would have made DIL furious for sure.

I'm glad you got to use the pool!  That was a good deal on the flowerpot, too!

The smoke is here again.  I posted a few on FB this morning and this afternoon, when going out of town and coming back.  Yesterday was pretty good, but it came back today.  We could definitely use some rain!  As could a lot of places.

Hope your weekend continues well.  Talk to you tomorrow, hopefully!

Julie,

She is really bad news!  Taking your things and also the neighbors is pretty darn low.  Any more news from them on FB or are the finally being quiet?

We went to a free concert last night, mostly so we could hear our friends band, The Sweaty Betty Blues Band.  Not sure why they call it that name because her, the lead singer, name is Marci Brown.  lol.  Had dinner at a nice Irish Pub but for some reason I was up through the night twice to the bathroom and have had a tummy ache.  I had a tuna melt and Bob had a burger but he seems okay.

Going to the track with his this morning to see a big race.  That is if my tummy will cooperate.  Still hurting as I speak.

Talk to you later my friend.  Hope you start to feel better today.

Hi Kim,

DIL did change her picture.  We let our son know about the neighbor's lawn mower going with her.  I imagine he'll tell her to put it back.  If the neighbor calls the police on her, it will come up under my case number - he could press charges, too.  This could still mess his future up with his job.

I hope your tummy is feeling better today.  Maybe it was the tuna since he had something different.  Hope you got to go to the track.

I'm sorry it's short today.  I'm not feeling well at all and have slept off and on. Hubby came and checked on me once and 2 of our 3 cats came with him and they sniffed all around me - one laid on my chest and the other by my side.  Even the dog came and laid on my other side.  They know when we aren't up to par.  I sure hope tomorrow is better.

Talk to you soon,

Julie  :)

Julie,

My stomach did finally settle down and I went to the track.  It was a large race this weekend and the grounds were full of RV's and race tents.  I got to see the type of race that Bob travels to participate in.  It was so hot that I spent the biggest part of the day in the Pro Shop and worked the shop for them.  Selling ice kept me busy as with the heat people needed bunches of it to keep their things in their coolers.

I managed to get my homework done in between making trips to the cooler though.  Back to school tomorrow.  Yikes this time flew.

Sorry you are feeling so badly.  Sleeping was probably the best thing for you and I hope today is a better day.  Animals do know when we aren't feeling well and they are always so patient to lay with us.  They can be such a comfort.  Several years ago when I had a problem with my back my poor little pregnant Indy dog was laying on the couch with me and started panting.  It was hot so I thought that was the problem.  However, when she started licking without stop I looked to discover that she was giving birth on the couch!  She was already laying on a blanket so I knew nothing could stain the couch so I let her go about her business.  She only had the one puppy but we shared a delightful adventure together that day.

Here's to a better day to you my friend.

Hi Kim,

Glad you were feeling better and able to go to the track.  That was good you could work the shop for them and try to keep yourself cooler; not to mention getting homework done!  That's the way to do it!  Hope all goes well as you go back to school this week.

This has definitely been an odd weekend.  Yesterday was awful.  Today was somewhat better but just not up to much.  I did go to church this morning and teach Jr. Church - couldn't handle anything else today.  I'm not up to par on much except off and on with my FB games - didn't even feel like playing those much yesterday.  Today I played shortcuts with them just to get the credits of entering the games each day of the ones I play.

Tonight, I'm starting to feel more like myself, so I'm thankful for that.  The cats and dog have still been hanging pretty close today - what would I do without them, lol!  Hopefully I'll have more to talk about this week and feel like doing it, too!!!  Have a productive and good day at school tomorrow!

Julie  :)

Julie,

Sorry you still aren't feeling well.   :'(  Do you feel badly for several days after each round of shots?

Not real excited about starting back to school.  The break went so fast.   :P  Even though I have worked ahead a bit on some upcoming projects I know I'm going to be slamming the books real hard again and with the nice weather it's hard to make myself stay inside and work.  It's been really hot and the plants need watered mostly every night and that takes time.

Can't dilly dally too much this morning.  Promised myself to stick to an exercise schedule again, which went by the wayside over break, so have to watch the clock.

Get better!

Hi Kim,

I'm feeling much better today.  I'm usually puny on Saturday and some of Sunday, after my shots, but this weekend was the worst I've ever felt.  I'm glad the weekend is now behind me!

I've got a job ahead of me.  With all the items from my mom's house up here - my front living room is definitely full of furniture and some boxes.  My daughter and I are going to have to go through and get rid of some things.  At least the furniture was set up in an organized way so as to manuever around them.  There's a dining room set, an armoir, dresser, night stand, book shelf, and a grandfather's clock in there.  My daughter had bought these things for her future place, so I'm not sure how long they will be in there.  She's got a couple of things in her room now (my ex-office, lol) and there's not much room left for anything else.  But we'll figure it all out.  I'm just thankful my DIL didn't have time to take these things before getting caught.

I hope your day was productive back at school.  As well, I hope everything is calmer at home.  When does Bob leave?  It would be great if things with his step-daughter would stay peaceful with you while he's away.  I won't keep you - I know you're consumed in your schooling now.  Have a good night - maybe some pool time, too!

Julie  :)

Organized chaos
« Reply #443 on: July 11, 2011, 12:34:05 pm »
Sounds like you are in the midst of organized chaos.  I know that feeling all too well.

First day back was good.  No homework tonight and that's great.

Bob leaves Thursday for Utah.  I don't expect problems from his daughter while he is gone.  We kind of stay out of each others way.  The other grandmother though (and she isn't allowed to call me grandma) has stated that she will not be babysitting anymore.  She doesn't work but says it makes her too stressed out.  The child is not hard to watch but I feel a little put upon.  I'm not granted the respect of being called grandma but I'm expected to step up to the plate and do everything a grandmother would do.

This is not my home, nor will it ever be my home, nor do I ever want it to be my home but I feel like a guest here since she has moved in.  I understand how she must feel about me in light of her mother's death but I didn't create this situation.  At times I wish I had never given up my independence by moving in.

I am buying my daughter's fifth wheel rv from her.  They need to it away from the lake because it is costing them 400 a month and they rarely use it.  My grand-daughter is in her senior year at school and next year she will start college at Virginia Tech.  They make too much money for grants so they will be paying all of her school costs so need to pare back.  At least with the rv I feel as though I will have a home if something should happen to Bob.  I could always live it in if needed.  I know that sounds barebones but it's the truth of the matter.  We aren't youngsters and although we are both healthy one never knows at our age.  I like to cover my bases.  I always like to have a plan for those "just in case" times.

Hope you continue to feel better.  The weather has been so hot I'm sure that isn't helping you any.  Here's to better health.

Good Tuesday morning
« Reply #444 on: July 12, 2011, 01:55:34 am »
Good morning!

Nothing newsy to talk about really.  Finished a report for school last night.  It rained again but still not near enough to really soak the ground.  We need an all day gully washer to really sink in and get to the roots.

Have to wear scrubs to school this morning as we're starting to learn injections.  I really don't like scrubs and think that is yet another reason why I will focus on medical records instead of the hands on nursing.   :P ;D

Hope Julie is feeling much better!

Hi Kim!

I'm glad you are buying your daughter's fifth wheel rv from her.  Do you know when you will be able to get it?  At least it gives you some peace of mind and a place to go when you need it.

Hey, hey!! Get to wear those scrubs, aye?  Lol, I don't think I'd like them either if I had to.  I'd much rather be on the typing/office end of things with that!  Let me know how you're doing with the injections.  I'm not sure I could handle that - inserting needles in someone else. I have enough problems having someone give me shots once a month as it is!  I guess it's something you would adapt to.

It's so hot here.  It's supposed to go up to about 99 tomorrow with a higher humidity index.  That means I'll be staying inside to avoid having any asthma problems.  Smoke still "plumes" through almost every afternoon/evening, too, from one of the fires that's still going on.  At least it's not most all day like it was.

I don't remember if you said anything about the step-daughter's biological dad.  I'm just kind of curious as to why she would come stay with the stepdad unless they have problems between each other.  I really hope things will be okay for you when Bob's gone to Utah.

Maybe some more rain will come your way.  We sure could use it here, for sure!  I'm glad I'm feeling lots better from the rough weekend.  I miss our conversations when I'm not up to par and on top of things.  Hope you have a great night and very little homework!

"See" ya later,

Julie  :)   :cat:

Wednesday already?

Julie,

Day two of scrubs.  We got to handle the needles yesterday and pull the saline from the bottles and "flick" out the air bubbles.  Today we actually get to use the needles.  We have a fake butt we use.  I have a picture of it posted on FB somewhere.

We need rain too.  The trees even look wilted.  We need an all day soaker.

The SD's dad and family lives about 40 miles from here.  She was going to live with them but it meant quite a drive for her so I was the one to offer she stay here.  She didn't come right out and ask but did call me to tell me her situation.  Can't remember if I told you in an earlier post that the husbands mother told her last week that she wouldn't be babysitting anymore because it stressed her out and yep she called me yesterday from work to ask if I would babysit the entire weekend (just as I expected).  I told her I would on Sunday but will not on Saturday.  I'm planning on going to my son's to visit.  I'm just not willing to go to school through the week then tie up my entire weekend babysitting.  I can't get my own errands run or chores done with a child.  I've raised four kids already!

Glad you are feeling better.  Let's do a rain dance!  You wanna?
