Is being racist something we can't help?

I am just curious. Is is something out of your control to look at other races and think they are not your own. Since they are not your own then you tend to stay with your own.

I really don't think it is ignorance but just something one can't control like they naturally gravitate to their own race.

I mean I guess silent racism is ok.

I kind of understand what you are saying but I wouldn't call it racism.  More so, a difference of opinions. You wouldn't surround yourself with people that you share nothing in common with.  But I don't understand where racism comes into that.  Now if you don't befriend someone you do share things in common with just because they're of another race, then that's racism!
