How long does everyone keep their Christmas lights up?

I dont have Christmas lights up on the outside, but my tree is still up cause my husband was over seas all of last year and he will be home this month and that is why my Christmas tree is still up.

I have always wanted outdoor lights.  If I ever get them they would stay up year round.  I have 3 beautiful evergreens in my back yard, during the summer months we are outside quite a bit and could use them as yard lights.  This year was the first time that I can remember that my tree came down before the first of the year.  I wasn't the one that did that.  Even as a child, my Mom's tree stayed up until vacation time was over.  Might have been the only chance she got to put it away.

Our house can't be seen from any roads so we don't even put any lights up on the outside. We decorate inside and put up a well lit tree but all that comes down a day or two after christmas.

I think I'll keep mine up all year round this year. Basically, I'll be putting the same thing up next year. I live in an apartment and a small tree and it looks so pretty, I don't want to take it down. lol!

Haha I keep mine up until Easter.  This usually includes the tree as well.  I have a lot of dinners and gatherings so I like the festive atmosphere these decorations provide.

I think it is cool how many people have said that they keep their decorations up all year around and that other people take then down right when the new year comes

I definitely feel like they should be down no later than January 5th or so...anything past January just comes off as tacky or lazy

I took the tree down New Years Eve and we don't have any outside lights.  Wish we did because it's snowing today and they would be so pretty.

My wife and I took our christmas lights down after the new year weekend.   I think that's just about right.

We leave our lights and decorations up until the feast of the epihany which was this weekend. The Christmas season isn't technically over as a holiday until then. Where do you think the song "12 Days of Christmas" comes from.
