I have been on Facebook for a year now since I got my new laptop.  I keep in touch with friends and family.  I don't spend that much time on it but I do check it several time a day.  But I would not say I can not stay away from it.  It is just a way to talk to friends as I have grand children in other states.

I started using Facebook in order to keep up with my grandson while he was in basic training but I found a bunch of friends from high school and it's nice being in touch again.  My grandson made it through basic & Iraq and is now expecting a baby so we get to see sonograms his wife uploads to Facebook.  I try to get on a couple of times a week.

kay7, Facebook has been the way I have kept up with my kids too.  My son is in Kuwait (enlisted Army).

His wife kept him (and all of us) informed as her pregnancy progressed.  We were also able to see 3D ultrasounds of our granddaughter before she was born in December.

Now we get to watch her grow as her mom continues to post new pictures.  My son still has several months to go before his tour of duty is done.

Facebook has 500 million users......if it were a country, it would be the 3rd Largest!  Many people do spend countless hours on it.
It has some nice features, the photo albums and live chat.

I like facebook as I could see what old friends are doing, but sometimes it goes a little overboard when people post every single detail about their lives.  just my opinion.

When I first started on it, I was very addicted. I was all about keeping up with everything my friends did and could not go a day without getting on. Now I just get on to pass time and keep in touch with people. I think a lot of it is a maturity thing. The younger generation uses it to know everyone's business and all the drama stuff, but the older people just use it as a form of communication.

I'm not quite stuck to it like glue, but I have found friends from many, many years ago, so it's a great way to keep in touch with them and with friends and family in other states.

I agree, when I first started I wanted to be on all the time but now I could go a couple of day without going on

I see the facebook when I get a email about it. It is good one but definitely not personal. Few things are supposed to be personal. It exposes everything

I enjoy facebook some would say I am addicted but compared to others Im not that bad. I enjoy it because I had a lot of friends in high school (and I still have alot of friends in high school) and now we are all over the states and with my s/o being in the Marines I now have friends in several other countries that I can be in instant contact with! along with staying in contact with my parents and my in laws! I do feel as if too many people with no lives get on there just to create some drama even if they know you or dont know you!
