Riddles
« on: March 21, 2011, 05:21:10 pm »
1) On a Sunday morning, a woman calls 911 to report her husband has been murdered. When an officer
arrives at the home, he asks what everyone was doing. The maid was cleaning another room, the butler
was cooking breakfast, and the wife said she was getting the mail. Right away, the officer knew to
arrest the wife. Why?

2) Two fathers and two sons go fishing. When they get home, they have a total of three fishes. Why?

3) A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

4) What is broken every time it's spoken?

5) Mom and Dad have four daughters, and each daughter has one brother. How many people are in the family?

6) What English word retains the same pronunciation, even after you take away four of its five letters?

There is no mail delivery on Sunday, she could not have been fetching it!

3) A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

He said, "You will sentence me to six years in prison."

4) What is broken every time it's spoken?
