Moving
« on: May 04, 2011, 06:56:14 am »
We are moving this weekend to my husband's Grandma. She needs someone to be there with her and help her out with her bills. I'm happy to move in with her, but moving is sooooooo stressful! We've lived in our current home for 10 years. We're going to rent our house to our neighbor. He needs a place he can afford. So i should be packing instead of posting... :D

good luck with the move -- it is stressful indeed
how far away is the grandma's house?  will you have space to move in your things?

What you are doing is highly commendable. I wish you good luck.
The last move I made, I had 3 bags: 1) for trash 2) for giveaway 3) to take with me
I tried to sort things quickly not thinking too much.

Good luck. I just moved myself. Our old land lord decided to sell the homes he owns and we luckily managed to find another place in short notice and we ended up moving so quickly, nothing was packed right, all messed up & it took me 3 weeks to find my necessities. Finally getting settled. So good luck and have fun. :)

I am getting ready to move too. My husband landed a job (YAY!) so we are getting things situated to move to a new town. I am really excited, just not about the packing and unpacking part. I know it is going to be stressful. Any advice??

The more things you get rid of now, the less your kids will have to clean out later.

moving can be very stressful and I hope all works out well with you, it is a nice thing that you are doing to help her out.  In this day and age it is hard to make ends meet. :angry7:

good luck with the move. Yes moving is very stressful. I recently moved in February and just so happened that it started to blizzard while we were moving stuff :S This was the first time I actually had to move furniture tho. It is the first time I've ever lived by myself and this was the first time I had to supply furniture because my old roommates always had that covered. Starting to enjoy being on my own tho finally :)

Good luck with all of it.  Moving is so hard, we've had to do it a couple times in the past couple years.  So I feel for ya. Be sure and mark everything for easy finding.  You might even want to think about getting a storage unit. With your new home already being occupied you may not have room for everything.  You'd be surprised what you can accumulate in 10 years!
I hope it all goes well for you.

I know how that feels, had to move to a new apartment a few months ago since our house wasn't finished yet but 3 weeks ago we moved again to the new house. Omg its so tiring to be moving boxes and then fixing your packed stuff into your room. I still havent even fixed my stuff jst needed the basic things in my room.
