How much do you pay babysitters? Someone that only watches your children for 3 hours or so?

it really depends on the child's age, but normally 15-20 dollars for three hours would suffice. if you have an infant, maybe put in a "bonus"

$5/hr for a sitter? I work from home and some times need help just keeping my son entertained so I was thinking about having my fiancees niece (age 11) come and watch him in my home. Think $5/hr is still the rate?

for an 11 year old, i think $5/hr is a good rate.
say she comes twice a week, that's $30. i would
have been pretty happy with that when i was 11

around here the rate is about $10/hour

yeah for an 11 year old but now a days its not 5 dollars an hour its more like at least 8 but most of the time 10 when i babysit i get 10 i dont demand 10 but thats typically what i get but i am older then 11 but yes 11 year old thats enough but def not no 5 dollars for older teens

Yeah, those sound like some nice rates.  I used to get $2/hour when I babysat back in the day.

Wow, I use to babysit for $0.25 an hour.  Had a summer babysitting job many moons ago that paid $25/week for two kids from 7 - 5 every day.  I thought I was making big money back then!

I get 3$ an hour, but I'm babysitting for my parents, they don't need to pay me but they insist they do. But yes, I believe 5$ is the going rate
