I just go through my iPod and if it has a good beat that I can count to I'll add it to my workout playlist.  Country, rock, rap, anything that has a good beat or gets me pumped up!  I found that a lot of Eminem's music is good but don't know if you are into that.

I am old school.  My best workout songs are Eye of The Tiger.... (Rocky), AC/DC.... fighting type songs.   I am an 80's guy and that rocks me and pumps me up!!!!   GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

It denpends on what your doing, take boxing for example its better to use some kind of rock, if your running you'll want something that goes toward pop or rap
