I have three degrees and at present not working. I am a teacher and have to much experience. They have to pay me what they can hire 2 or 3 other teachers for. So I guess experience isn't everything.

I went back to school & got a nail tech license. And business is booming. Everyone, even in a recession, still want their hands & feet to look good.

My degree was in Mass Communication and no it has never helped me one bit.  I valued my overall college education but I only chose that degree because it was the most popular in my school and I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up.  If I had it to do all over again I would have majored in something that would have allowed me to get a decent job.

I graduated in May with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, I have been trying to find a job, but have had no luck.  I have made the decision to go to Graduate School, so that I can hold off on having to pay back my student loans for another year and a half, and also to see if the economy improves by then and there will be a job for me.  I am very disappointed, I am ready to be in my own classroom.

I'm glad this topic came up. I'm currently in school finishing my BA in Healthcare Management but I wanted to learn medical billing and coding to do something from home on side. I don't know anyone in the business but have a feeling it's not just sitting home plugging away at the computer making money.

and i think it's helped me get the job i have
now, but i work in the graphic design and
print field, not interiors. and any job could help
me in this economy, so yes to the question!
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I'm currently in school getting my BS in Computer Information Systems. If I had the brains to handle all the higher math and science, I probably would have done some sort of engineering (probably petroleum) just because if you're a woman with an engineering degree, you're pretty much guranteed to have job since there are so few women in the engineering field.

I have a degree in fashion merchandising (sold trucks for 25 years) and a degree in business management.  Thought I would run my own design studio someday but met a cowboy and moved down on the farm.

He, however, has four degrees, prevet med, construction, computer science and a grad degreen.  Worked as a construction worker for 25 years, a rodeo cowboy and only one year in the computer field.  Go figure.
