College Students

Do any of you have College Students coming to your door trying to earn points for one thing or the other?

I live in Oregon and I have had 5 show up in the last week or so. One told me he was going to School in Florida but The program he was trying to earn points from sent him across the country to Oregon.

This sounds very odd to me!! I have never heard that one before!!! I would take it as a scam, if I were you. I'd also check with the Local Police to see if they have any information on this!! There are so many scams out there these days. I wouldn't believe anything out of the normal and check with locals on the situation.

Was he trying to sell you something? I have to admit, I too have never heard of college students doing that.

Yeah, Im a college student and I have never heard of a program like that at my school.

I've never seen college students go around selling stuff. I've had elementary and high school students, but never college. I would be a little sketchy about that one. Did he have any proof or was he just asking for money?

Yes one was selling magazines, another educational toys, and another was coupons to local restaurants. I knew they were scams but I didn't think about calling the local police.

Never had that happen to me either. I've had Salesmen come around and try to sell me stuff, but no college students. I miss the Salesmen like the Fuller Brush Man, Watkins, etc. Now I'm dating myself......lol

Every summer we have college kids coming around selling educational reference books. Always seem like nice kids. They need to do so many sales pitches each day or week or something. They generally don't bother me & I let them do their spiel to get their time in or what ever.
