Do you think teachers should get paid more?

I think it depends on what state you are talking about. I see teachers who make 50-60k with summers and holidays off. They also have state retirement and good health insurance. I don't have those perks.

The education system in the US is a total mess.  More money must go into education.  Our teachers are absolutely underpaid.  Teachers should get raises just like any other professional.

I think that they should be paid more for the job that they do. But I do believe that the pay is based on the cost of living in that area. Should be based on their education and determination.

i believe teachers deserve better pay. they have to put up with so much and have a lot of roles to play. i actually went to school to become a teacher and honestly with what i have seen in the classrooms, i realized i should have gotten a degree in something else. I have witnessed a teacher crying and considering quitting because she was just too stressed out with her group of students. she wasn't a newbie either had been teaching for 15 years.

Those two sentences don't belong together.
We need to fix our education system so that bad teachers don't automatically get raises and get weeded out. And like other public employees, teachers need to start paying a decent amount of their health care and pensions. In Ohio where I live, they only pay 5%! And who has a pension anymore?

the good teachers should because they inspire students to do their best and should get some credit for being a good teacher.
