Hand made gifts for Christmas
« on: November 20, 2011, 08:38:33 am »
Do you make any handmade gifts for Christmas?  If so, what do you make?  Do you like to receive them?

I am not making any this year, but in the past, have made a lot of really cute Christmas stockings to hang.  I have also made afghans (which I usually give for wedding gifts or baby gifts).  I have done a lot of crossstitch and embroidery items for Christmas.

I haven't had the time to make things, but I love when my Mom knits or crochets blankets for us.  She hasn't done that in along time.

I usually make gifts rather than buy them. I feel that something from the heart has more meaning than something from the wallet.

i need to find some ideas for things for my son to make. I usually have him make something from grandma and his teachers.
I like handmade gifts -- you will never find them anywhere else so they are very special

I'm doing quite a few handmade gifts this year... I'm making a coaster set, scarf, and candle for my sister, and a dog toy for her pup.  In past years I've made fleece blankets and pillows as gifts.

I make scarves, hats, gloves and bags... I love to knit.. it is such great therapy!

I also sell these to help with more products.

Hoping to get as many people as I can wrapped up in Toasty WarmScarves.. etc.

Stay warm!!  Great question.   :angel11:

I've done handmade gifts - crocheted baby blankets and afgahns are my specialty.  One year I found out our family's favorite honey shop in Florida had an online website and ordered honey and empty bear jars - and made gift baskets with the honey, honey candy - and I made some homemade jam.

This year I won a popcorn/nut roaster on a penny auction and decided I'm going to make bags of homemade kettle corn and roasted cinnamon peanuts to go with the gift cards I'm giving.  Seemed better than handing them an envelope with the gift card.   :D

I will make gifts for those "hard to buy for" people. I love doing latch hook rugs, so I have given those in the past. I always give the people at work homemade cookies as part of their gift. Yes, I do like receiving homemade gifts, no matter what it is.

I love handmade gifts. I have been making and giving them for years now. It might be a pair of slippers, dishrags, an afghan, or one of many other items. I also love to receive handmade gifts. They are always so personal.

I like to crochet and sew items. I'm working on a blanket that I'll give to someone. Last year I made heating pads filled with rice for quite a few people. I think I'll bake this year.

I never did I don't know how I don't have this talent but I love to get them because I feel its better than anything you would buy from the store because it mean that the person who gave it to me care and spent time to do something special just for me
