My Mother was twenty three when I was born and had been married for two years.  I kind of questioned my legitimacy after hearing of so many people being born out of wedlock.  At the time she was a bit old for having children...most women were having babies at around twenty one.  I think that most people aren't prepare, financially and mentally, until they are a tad over thirty.  All though they will be about fourty eight when their children are ready to graduate they are much better equipped to handle the rigors of being a parent.

I'm the youngest of 3.  My mom was 39 when I was born.  She was told after having my brother 19 years earlier that she couldn't have any more kids.  She got her tubes tied right after me so there wouldn't be any more surprises

I'm the youngest girl (twins).
She had two more boys and regrets not continuing because nine isn't enough for her 
She always wanted enough kids so there would be a birthday every month, but she was better at getting the years spaced right, not months. lol A kid, next year a kid (to grow up and play together), few years later when those first ones were going off to school, another kid so she wouldn't be lonely at home.

She was 29 when I was born. Although from all the replies that doesn't seem all that old to have a kid. I'm 27 right now and still not thinking about having kids. I would rather adopt to be honest and provide a home to a child that needs one rather than adding another kid to the world in this state. Although I still don't want kids yet.

My mother got a late start.  She was 30 when I was born. I was the oldest.
