I prefer satellite to cable. Although both have different good things I suppose. During storms, we lose our signal where as with cable you can usually still watch t.v. without a problem. And now that televisions can't receive basic news channels without a converter thing, if you lose your satellite signal during tornado weather you can't even switch off the receiver and still follow the news on "plain" t.v. unless you have a converter. So, my family is in the dark when it comes to watching the weather during intense storms & can't even use the battery operated emergency t.v. either because of the digital switch.  :BangHead:

I think they rate equally, but they are all too expensive.  I am thinking of cancelling my satellite because the package I have simply isn't for me.

which one is better cable or satelite?

If I had only those 2 options I would pick cable. I have had both and weather affects satellites too often. BUT I actually choose neither one! I am a netflix girl !

I'm with the person that said neither. all because you can what mostly anything you want online for free. There are website you can what even newer movies for free. and Hulu has lifetime movies and shows for free.

We have cable for TV and internet but I'm thinking about getting rid of the TV part because it's gotten way too expensive and seems to cost more every month.  Right now, we're at $126 a month with no movie channels.  We do have a western channel for my husband.  The internet potion is $39.95 but will be higher if I dump the TV part but mostly we watch what used to be free TV anyway.

I prefer cable for the ease of use; however, I'm currently using satellite for the ease on my pocket, lol;-)

I have had both and I would have to say cable is better because the weather affects the satellite too much.  If it is windy or stormy etc you have no signal.
