I am 26 years old, married, no kids, and absolutely loved this movie! Me and my husband saw it in theaters, and I couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD. As soon as it came out, I bought it, had my parents over for dinner and watched it with them. They loved it just as much as we did!

I actually just watched a rather old movie for the first time just about an hour or 2 ago called "I Am Sam" with Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeifer and it was a pretty good flick.  Not a lot of action, mystery, comedy or suspense; however, if you're looking for a good drama with outstanding actors, "I Am Sam" is for you!

A Good Day to All

"Since today is Saturday I will post one of my "matinee"" favorites--Secondhand Lions.  Stars Robert Duval, Michael Caine, Haley Jo Osment.  Wam and funny without being sickeningly sweet, and plenty of swash and buckle, if you like that sort of thing.  Rated PG.  Have a great day, y'all.   :bunny:

I just came back from watching The Lorax in theaters. I think it is the best Dr. Seuss movie adaptation yet. First you have to move beyond a few things: Yes, its a kids movie. Yes, its fairly predictable, and the majority of people who have heard anything about the book will know the general tale. The way that these movies are entertaining is not because it reveals any surprise plot points or shocking twists, just in the subtle ways it tells the story. Every story has been told, what makes it different is how its told, from what viewpoint, and why. I mean, how many times are we going to reinvent Batman and Spiderman. Going back to my point, I recommend The Lorax for young and young at heart, who just want to sit back and watch a movie for fun, not to find something bad about it and complain on the internet. There isn't much of that "good, clean, fun" left these days, so maybe I find such things refreshing. :cat:
