Charging Our Phones
« on: February 27, 2009, 06:46:50 pm »
After trying to finish a few of the offers, I've noticed that a lot of offers ask for cell #s, and then if you read the fine print they say that their going to charge like $10 to phone bill. :o  I think that this should be put up for us to read before we try the offer, So that people dont go a try and do the offer if their not going to want to be billed. it takes up time and some people dont read fine print so its no telling how much its going to cost them.

Does anyone agree with me?

All of the offers have terms and conditions before you sign up for them. Most of the higher valued offers involve some sort of charge. You just need to make sure to cancel the service if you don't want to continue being billed.

i completely agree with you.........i think if we are offering our time to give our input to help these companies, there should not have to be fine print about any charges we may incur. i think it should be made well known before the fact adn if you choose to its your choice not something you discover when you open your phone bill....most of us are here trying to make more money..not increw more bills....if we get charged i think it should be included back as a reimbursement in that months cashout....thats just my opinion.

Yea they need to do somthing about it. like one of the offers that were for $0.25, at the end ask for your phone number, and I just would not put it in and after the 3rd time not putting it in it finaly told me that it was for a $9 phone fee. These hidden charges has made me not want to finish offers.

I never give my cell to any business.  They will eat you up in charges and you can't stop them.. I use my home phone and never answer it - just let voice mail screen all calls.

I agree that these charges are not good, but I also agree that we should all realize that every offer/trial has it's own "fine print".  My problem is with the Mobile M8 offer. It says the same, about the $9.99 per month charge if you're with certain carriers or $0.99 per message received if with other carriers. My carrier is the 99cent/msg one and once I realized that, I tried to cancel. Guess what...YOU CANT!!!  I read their terms/agreement over and over and it says you can "Cancel at ANY TIME" simply by texting STOP to 33222, and if you need further assistance you can email them at info@zero9.com (or something like that).  I have done both of these MULTIPLE times!!! And yes, I made sure my phone didn't have a signature that was being attached to each message. I sent MANY emails too!! NOTHING!! I still received TONS of incoming messages....at a buck a message!!! GRRRR!!!  :angry7: I finally had to go into my mobile account and put a block on any premium text services!!! They still send messages to me, but it says "This number has block on all premium messages and can only be changed by the primary account holder".  I am curious...no scared...to see what my phone bill will end up being this month. Talk about ANGRY!!! Oh yeah, and I searched the mobile m8 company and found it's a branch of a company called Zero9, so I searched them and got their company phone number and all of their CEO's emails. The phone number is ITALY and when I called it I got NOTHING!! It wouldn't even ring!! And when I sent emails to the CEO's demanding my account be cancelled, they all came right back to me as Mailor Daemon Errors. GRRRR!!!!! DO NOT DO THIS MOBILE M8 OFFER!!!

I don't know why FC would sponsor scam companies.

That is odd. I did this offer and It let me cancel right away. I just texted stop to the number and they sent me a message saying that the service was canceled.

I have been swept up by these hidden charges and I am absolutely livid. I cannot believe such things are endorsed here at Fusioncash, much less legal in this country.

If I can somehow manage to cancel, will my phone bill still be charged?

well this is how how these advertisers make their money. They count on people not reading the fine print and then when the time comes they bill the person. It's actually the persons fault for not reading all the terms and conditions properly. I do not do the offers that require you to put your pnone number, and I do see your point as it would save us all the hassle of going through the process only to find out that they charge us. But look at it from the advertisers perspective. What if you were the advertiser, wouldnt you want to be descrete about telling people your going to charge them as well?

Hi there

On those offers there are rules on what they will do. Because what they are asking for is your number then they will send a number to you on your phone. Then you give them the code and they charge your phone. If you don`t want to do it then don`t. Because they will charge you for the service.

The advertisers making their money this way should be ashamed of themselves. If I were an advertiser, I would want to be upfront and reliable. Instead, these sites say things like "free ______" in bold letters, and then blame YOU if you didn't read the "fine print" that they've hidden somewhere on their site? After being scammed like this once, I won't be swept away again like that. But the fact that it happened even once is a problem. It reflects poorly on Fusioncash.com.

I never sign up for the offers that want to charge my phone bill. If for some reason it wasn't cancelled in time they would charge me.

I, in a way, agree with that. You should always read everything before signing up for something anyways though.

I have seen these offers also but I don't think FC could completely police this as these offers are somtimes embedded within offers which are embedded whithin other offers. I do understand your frustration though. I woder what happens if someone "accidentally" puts someone elses number in one of these. Most of the ones I have seen only ask for the # and no other personal info.
