I don't know, maybe I am a bit of a hypochondriac, but isn't this like "BIG BROTHER" watching us?  I have answered a BUNCH of surveys and I have never been excepted…I am starting to wonder.... :BangHead

I've heard that having a cell phone, even a turned off cell phone, gathers information from your ambient noise so that it can give you better advertisements. I think that even if you are not on the internet- like an elderly person who doesn't want to try something new- your SSN and other info is still floating out there and you are at risk.

Yes, I do fear it. While I don't know all the details of SOPA, I know they were intended to help Big Brother and hurt us.

Like the I.R.S., the police, an ex, or bill collectors?

With all the good cop, bad cop interregations with a variety of replies to just about everyone's thread questions  :'( :( :o. At times I wonder if falcon9 is 'connected' or wearing a 'wire' or 'tapped'? just joshin'  ;)  :peace: :cat:

In this particular instance, "Storm61115" had falsely accused me of being FC's automated censor, (while that was likely her jumping to an unwarranted conclusion, it was done in an insulting manner and the insult was returned).  As far as your speculations, I'm ex-law enforcement but, not in the capacity you might assume.

Since the same had occurred to me after the first, (and only), time I provided a phone number in order to complete a high-paying survey, I hear you.  It wasn't worth getting all the solicitation calls and the number has been changed to an unlisted one.

I, like many others, am very careful about the information I give.  If I'm doing a survey that I think is getting too deep I just shut it down. Most of them are pretty generic and I don't worry as no specific identifying info is kept.  Also, be sure to clear your cookies everyday so you don't have any tracking cookies left on your system.  Good luck and good question. It seemed to elicit lots of thoughts from other Fusion members.  Good luck and happy Fusioning!

I never give my # unless I truly want to be contacted I have bailed on several surveys that have gotten way to personal banking/mortgage/home address on one page seems a little too much for me and not worth the 50 cents or so I may or may  not get I think you have to go with whatever makes you comfortable

I know we give out too much information. We're constantly being tracked - even our activity on this forum. As long as I can remember when I started to get involved with the Internet (even before the media talking about how Google tracks you) I've been on a bit paranoid.

Yep, we are giving out way too much information. If it wasn't for the ability to {REDACTED} I would not even bother {REDACTED}. I say the {REDACTED} still works best. Keep the {REDACTED} and unable to {REDACTED}.
