of course they are.  people arent capable of breathing these days without an alarm on their smartphone to remind them of it lol (exaggeration, yes)..but still, people are entirely too dependant on electronics lately

tech gadgets are alwasy handy... cell phones  are always good to use incase of an emeragncy ofcourse... and laptops as well..

There are some/many parts of the world without such high-tech gadgets so, perhaps we're a bit shy of the "SkyNet" scenario after all.
