Smart phone or Dumb phone?
« on: May 18, 2012, 04:24:11 am »
Do you have  smart phone?  If so what kind?  I opted for the smartest dumb phone I could find so I could get unlimited everything without the extra price tag.... not so sure i  made the right choice.  Surfing is impossible and there are just so many things you can't do .... maybe the extra $$$ is worth it ???  If I can find a good job I may spring for the better phone/service.

My smartphone is dumb lol..I didn't know much about them when I got it and after putting all these apps on it I was told there wasn't the memory for all that. I assumed there was and that they were all pretty much the same. I have so many problems with it and I can't wait to get a new one around the holidays and know what I'm looking for now

I call my phone a dumb phone it's just a basic talk and text phone.  I don't even have a camera on it.  It has internet but the screen is so small I don;t even use it.

I had a smart phone when I was working...well not an advanced smart phone but smarter than the feature phone I have now.  It had a qwerty key pad which saved me a ton of time to text my kids when I was on my breaks. I've never had one with a high capability to surf the net.  Now I have the most simple phone out there.  I'm hardly ever away from the kids now so I'm ok with having it for emergency only.  Even my kids have a basic phone in the event they need to stay in touch - we just throw on #20 worth of minutes and they are set for 3 months.  Sometimes less is more.

I have a ZTE android phone now, however I did have a LG Optimus a few months ago and I considered it the dumbest smart phone on the market. Force close was one of the options I was given when my phone froze up and it froze up a lot. almost every time I used the internet my phone froze up. My wife even called my LG a dumb phone.

I have just a basic cell phone, nothing fancy. I recently bought a acer iconia 7" tablet and have been using it when I am in town to keep lists, surf internet, etc.. I like it because I can use free wifi and never pay for internet. I think it is a rip off to pay $25/mo per device and you don't even get much data for your money and can't even get unlimited if you wanted. I will stick with my home wifi for now at $50 for unlimited devices and internet. I think the price is worth it plus I split the bill with my husband.

I love my phone........hate the battery life, I have about five different Chargers one in the car, two at home, one at work, and one I leave in my purse just in case. Just ridiculous.

I just have a basic pay-as-you-go cell phone with no camera. I'm looking around to get a smart phone with good internet access that doesn't loose its signal, or drop many calls. Any ideas which carrier is the best way to go?

I'd go with the dumb phone; no extra fees, not as easily trackable as smartphones. Plus, I don't have to waste anymore money on useless apps.
