No, I do not .  It is my time and I feel that I should be allow to take a summer vacation if I have the time.

I can relate to that i work on internet 24-7 when i go on vacation i leave internet home

NO! It's your own personal vacation time. You don't need to disclose any details if you don't want to.

Used to be i think they had sick leave and vacation and longterm illness and stuff like that bu t now it's all gropued under PTO or ATO or that kind of thing, so if comapnies do that, then they don't have a right to know why you are taking off time

I don't think anyone should have to explain but sometimes if people work in close quarters or a smaller company then it's "expected"...meaning if you don't "tell" then others act offended and will give a cold shoulder to you for shutting them out.    Gosh a "private vacation" sounds lovely right now.    Impossible but absolutely lovely for sure....

No but I usually tell people if I'm going somewhere just in casual conversation.

You don't have to share what you plan to do with your time off with others if you don't want to, but I do provide a minimal input to be at least be sociable.

I do sometimes share i mean ,but sometimes my husband and i just jump in car and go
