It sounds like you people say hmm He posts a lot, he can stay, oh look a "newbie" lets kick him out. Seems like there's a click here and the people who are "newbies" because they don't post as much are kicked to the side.  And how am I a loser if I post within the time limit and complain about those who don't?

Kohler: Am I wrong? Seriously, I am wrong to complain about people staying who post past the time limit like the rules clearly state? Prove to me that I am wrong and I'll accept defeat. But I am going by clear facts. Show me how I am wrong. Show me how these people can stay.

Seriously, if you look at the timestamps of the people you say are "out", it's at those times of day when, well, they may not be awake yet.
By your logic I should have been out too, because I posted a little late once -- I woke up late because I was sick. Whoop-dee-doo, let's penalize me for it!

I think the way the game has been run has been fair for the vast majority, and I see no reason why those remaining shouldn't split the pot up and enjoy the bonus together. It was a fun game, and it was run as fairly as possible in my opinion, and that's that. At the end of the day, it IS a game, and it IS a bonus, so I see no reason why one should take it extremely seriously...Anyways, my vote is for the "end the game and split the cash" option.

As I stated before, I know no one on this site on a personal level. I do not care who wins or who is out - it was meant to be a fun thing to do. You posted over by 12 seconds, should you have been removed? Probably, but I let you stay. Overnight was an oversight on my part - I did not mention when it should stop or restart - and therefore users who got up before me and beat me before I posted they were out, were left. There was two instances that people posted right as I removed from the original list. These users did not complain as they were removed from the game.

This is a good point.I woke up late today and barely posted before kohler did.It's not my fault if I still woke up earlier than him!

You guys have been paid 40 cents per. It came out to .36 cents per if you evenly divided it, but I am more of a round number kind of guy.

The prevailing opinion seems to be to end it immediately.  My vote would be to change it to a 1 hour window and implement the cutoff times effective immediately.  If by Saturday morning there are still more than five people left, at that point split the pot and call it a game.  By Saturday, the game would have lasted for two weeks, which seems like a good cutoff.

But, whatever is done, I appreciate you running the game, Kohler, for the last 1.5+ weeks.

For the next one it will be that I post a phrase, and then you have x amount of time to reply back. Starting from something like 5 hours down to 30 minutes or less (depending on how the game went).

Ideas? Thoughts? Any possible hiccups in the game?

Also if you posted even 1 second late - you would be removed from the game.

My only advice would be make sure there is a firm start/stop time for the game that everyone clearly understands.(If that's applicable)

With the new one - It would be random when I post. It obviously would not be in the middle of the night. But, I will post the possible start/end times for all to see.

Sounds good.  Only thing I might suggest is to not have set times you plan to post your quote.  If everyone knows you're going to post each day at say 12:00, 5:00, and 8:00, they'll know exactly when to check and how long they have. It could potentially take weeks, or even months, to get down to the number of people to win.  I'd suggest that when you post the quotes, it's at random times every day.  The one thing which made the tag game interesting was you knew you had to checking in all day to stay in.... you couldn't just "check-out" at 6:00pm, say, until the next day.  

I would just make it in the rules that you wouldn't post a quote during a specified time range every night (say 10pm-8am PDT).  Last thing needed is another repeat of what happened in this game.

Correct - I would post the times I would not post and then post any time that is not in those times. Therefore it could be noon one day and 10am the next and 5pm after that, etc
