Yay or Nay: $1 charge for USPS Tracking on cashout checks
« on: March 26, 2009, 10:22:01 am »
FusionCash is switching to an automatic check printing service, and they have the ability to do USPS tracking on the envelopes.  What this means is that you can track and confirm its progress and delivery on its way to you, much like a package from UPS or Fedex.

Is this a desirable feature?  Is it worth $1 per check?  Would it be worth something less (e.g. $0.50 per check)?

Your honest answers are appreciated as we consider options for the future :)

I think having the option of tracking check payouts is a good idea, but I don't agree with having to pay $1 to do it. ;D

I think it should be for those who want the tracking option.  If they don't want the option they don't have to, but if they choose it there should be a charge.  You guys already do so much for us.  But of course, I don't get my payment by check, I go direct deposit, so it won't affect me.

If you don't want to pay the $1, choose a different payment method (for free) that IS trackable.

I think it's a good idea for those that don't want to do the other payment choices.

I think it would be a good idea but it should be optional

I think it is a good idea especially for someone who is execting a large check.

I dont see the advantage in the users with this option.. This would be a great option for the support to verify when people are complaining that they have not received their checks yet...  I def dont see people paying $1.00 for this either..

It's a catch-22.  As more clients of the check printing company (FusionCash is one of these clients) use USPS Tracking, the cost goes down from $1 per check to basically $0 per check because of the way USPS charges fees.  But it's tough to justify that kind of cost.
