Why do you think we have dreams?
« on: August 13, 2012, 09:56:32 pm »
I have been told that most of our dreams are a result of things that have happened in during the day or they are of things that are thought of the most. this is not always the case, sometimes i dream about things I would have never thought of awake. It is inconclusive as to why we have dreams. Why do you think we have dreams?

Some have suggested that the dream-state is the subconscious level of the mind's time to come out and 'play'.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I have a spiritual Lady I speak with often and she tells me sometimes dreams are a warning of something about to happen. Sometimes it can be your mind is thinking of many things like worried about something and you may recieve a answer to your problem if you know how to interpret your dream. Last night I had a dream of something I had been worried about and in my dream I gotten my answer. Today in mail It was what I had been worried about that was good news for me. I do believe in different things in my dreams that are answers or warnings. No matter what any one say I choose to believe what I want.

Indeed; that's how irrationality struggles to hold rationality at bay.  Anyone who chooses to hold irrational beliefs can do so however, these are not equated with fact or reason.

OK, a "spiritual Lady?"  Am I in the year 2012 or did we somehow all get transported back to the middle ages?  Am I to believe that this was an adult who wrote this?  Hardly possible, but what's to prevent 5 year old kids from posting on this forum?

My meaning of spiritual lady to me is because she is a pastor of a church and I shouldnt have to explain my meaning to anyone. I will though say this to you since you seem to have your head in the bushes. Sad case I will pray for you.

My meaning of spiritual lady to me is because she is a pastor of a church and I shouldnt have to explain my meaning to anyone.

In that case, the opinion was religiously-biased, (that is, based upon a belief, rather than upon substantive evidence).

Your opinion is without merit and contrary to reason.  Doubtless this is due to 'staring at mirages of burning bushes', (belief without eidence), which subsequently caused your demonstrated faith-blindness.  The term "blinded by the light" springs to mind when reading your posts.

I think it has a lot to do with what is weighing on your subconscience. A lot of my dreams actually make a lot of sense when I think about what I am dealing with.... But, who knows!!

I think we dream all the time like daydreaming :) but more so when we are asleep. And I know I have different dreams depending on my day or how I felt that day or things I ate. Sometimes they are scary dreams the make me scream in my sleep and some are good happy dreams, but not too much of those lately, but no screaming either so I guess that is good too. I need some great dreams right now!!

Yeah some of my dreams are whack and I certainly don't remember thinking of the things I find in them! I feel that dreams are a combination of our actions/thoughts and our wishes/fantasies. Plus they provide some good entertainment during those long nights! Imagine a dreamless sleep....how boring!

i seldom remember my dreams, but when i do they seem to have a huge affect on how i manage my day, almost like a warning or guide.

I agree, sometimes dreams can be prophetic.  I've had a couple in my lifetime that I believe showed me exactly what was to come.  These dreams were always realistic and crystal clear.  Sometimes they were repetitive, and one of them was very scary.

All I know is if you ever dream of numbers, play those numbers any way you can - you're a guaranteed winner.  :D

Speaking from experience, my dreams tell me things that are about to happen before it happens. I don't think that have anything to do with something happening that day or something is on the mind heavy or bothering you. It can be scary at times....I dream of things that you wouldnt believe, & I would say 95% of them was accurate. (with witnesses)

Very interesting, "witnesses," I wonder how you experience that and what entities do you think are these witnesses?  I mean, who or what is inside your head to verify your dreams in relation to your waking experience?

Witness in meaning of there are people that can actually verify that my dreams do turn into reality.
