Laughter
« on: September 23, 2012, 07:18:56 pm »
I posted how dancing makes you feel good; so does laughter.  It also releases endorphins in your brain that relieve stress.  It eases tension, helps your immune system and increases the blood flow in your heart.  So dancing and laughter go hand in hand and their both free.  You can do both of home with your partner or by yourself. It does make you feel better. Try it :D

What can laughter do?:

    Lower blood pressure
Increase vascular blood flow and oxygenation of the blood
Give a workout to the diaphragm and abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles
Reduce certain stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline
Increase the response of tumor- and disease-killing cells such as Gamma-interferon and T-cells
Defend against respiratory infections–even reducing the frequency of colds–by immunoglobulon in saliva.
Increase memory and learning; in a study at Johns Hopkins University Medical School, humor during instruction led to increased test scores

    Improve alertness, creativity, and memory

When I dance, other people laugh.  I'm sure that makes them feel good.

I agree but I do not dance or laugh much. It would be nice to have something to laugh about. And I do wish I could dance.

I don't dance very much, but I'm lucky to be surrounded by silly people that make me laugh all the time.

I love to watch programs on tv which make me laugh!  Lucy was a good one to watch if you wanted a good laugh!  Also Bill Cosby when he talks about raising children and dentists etc.  You just can't help but laugh!

I'm not much of a dancer, but I guess after reading about what you mentioned about all of the wonderful effects I can have on the body I might just do a little more of it.

You must agree though that ther isn't always something funny available.  Maybe passing around more jokes than "feel good" messages would help   ;D
