revisiting the suggestion for new posting level
« on: October 10, 2012, 10:14:03 pm »
What is the general preference; FC decides what to name an 8,000-post level or, a member participation context to name it?

Some previous suggestions:
"rhodium" level
"diamond" level
"aluminum" level
"Promethium" level
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Good choice; named after a mythical being who brought "fire" to mankind.

Palladium IS next in the line-up of the most precious (or noble) metals, being rarer than platinum.

But perhaps another to consider would be Titanium?

Quoting the headline of an article on dailyfinance.com:
"Forget Gold: Titanium Will Be the Metal With the Midas Touch"

Or this - Neptunium - just for the cool name (with a cool pic for it, too):

But....maybe falcon9 would like THIS Neptunium pic better, though?

;D ;D :o ;D ;D

How come it won't play?

I'd vote for Titanium, (though some may prefer 'Krytonite'?).

So, no 'big-dude-in-gauze-gown-with-trident' for you then, eh?

Nah, though he reminds me a little bit of my H.S. biology teacher - funny guy, good teacher.

So, you're voting for Paladium level?

How've you been?

I like Palladium...as I said it WOULD be the next likely rare & precious metal choice.
(and as we all know, you certainly fit well with BOTH of those adjectives)

I think Titanium would be cool -
It sounds tough...strong.....
(I can't say hard, if I do I will be doing the "Oh THOR" thing again)

(Palladium makes me think of the live concert club by that name)

Strange, isn't it.........how the trident resembles a devil's pitchfork......

I'm doing well. And how have you been, also?

I've just been busy busy busy - - you know, stalking cateyes all over the FC forum......
( ::) Yes right, because of course I would follow her and stalk her, as I can't think of anyone else that would be better to stalk....?.....?...than......cateyes?.....?)

I stalk in silence, though.

Very stealthy I am......silently following her every post.....

crickets......chirp.......chirp...

Aaah I can't hold it in anymore....

    Bwaahahahaha

Doubtless, it's purely a coincidence, nyet?

I'm doing well. And how have you been, also?

That's good to know, I'm glad you are.  I'm good, (or, the 'epitome of ebil', according to the 'thumpers); either way, life is good - especially when compared to the alternative.

No doubt she'd believed it was her tinfoil cap, (or propeller beanie), which was 'warding' you off all this time.  I guess she may have tried throwing 'unholy water' at her computer screen to 'ward' against me ... wonder how that worked out for her?

Yes you are just so SO EBIL.....I don't know how you do it!

It's either effortless or, a result of eons of practice, (depending upon whom one asks).

That's a cool all hallow's eve costume idea, (though some jealousy on her part may ensue because you had me at "thong").

Probably wont make another new level until there are 10-20 members at Platinum.

Ah, I'd extrapolated that the same intervals would apply, doubling each level as with Silver to Gold, (1,000 doubled to 2,000 posts), from Gold to Platinum, (2,000 doubled to 4,000 posts), and Platinum to xxx, (4,000 doubled to 8,000 posts).  Since I will hit 8,000 posts today or tomorrow and it'll be many moons before we get 10-20 members at Platinum, the suggestion was revisted to designate an 8,000 post membership.

Well falcon9, if you don't see another membership level coming in your near future, maybe we can help cheer you up. I would send you a 'young-lady-in-skimpy-foil-wear'-gram, maybe Cuppycake could make you some cup(py)cakes.
