If people would just use things responsibly and not use electrons while driving we would all be ok.  It's the people not the device!   ;D

we use cell phones and no longer use a landline. It makes it so much easier to stay in touch with the family no mater where we are. But when it comes to driving and talking on one, we just pull over and either call them back or just keep driving to where there is a safe plce to stop. Have seen too many wrecks and fender benders because the drivers are talking or texting instead of where they are going. They need to learn there is a place for everything. Just hope and pray they don't hit someone or run over a small child.

In the beginning I was dead against cell phones, but since we don't have a home phone, I have changed my mind, especially if one tries to find a job and has to be "at hand" when the phone rings. However, I DON'T like it when people talk loudly on their cell phones in the store, the restaurant, the road, anywhere. I'm not interested in their conversation, so they should not impose their conversation onto me!

We are now living in a very fast -paced society. Cell phones are an integral part of our lives now. They're here to stay.

I am sort of divided on this, I don't use a smart phone and if they didn't make other than smart phones I would probably go away from cell phones. I come from the era where they use to have phone at least at every corner. I do like a cell phone for traveling. I never use hotel phones (dont know what they charge and probably wouldnt want to know). I try not to answer my phone on the road while I'm travelling (wait until I stop or take a break). Although I do use a cell phone (dumb phone), my Kids have smart phones and grandkids also, I don't believe this is right to give an 8 year old a phone. My daughter and grandson come to the house for dinner or a holiday gathering they are constantly playing with their phones or taking calls at the dinner table. I have had to tell them to leave the phones in the car in the past, just to keep them off them. They seem to be addicted to the games, apps. This is the problem, they have to be in constant contact with their friends, texting or whatever!!What I consider totally rude!!

I agree the texting feature should be eliminated for all cell, android and smartphones. Even though texting while driving is illegal, there will always be ignorant people that will choose not to obey the law. :angry7: It's like drinking and driving. If accidents do occur, they have to pay for it. It’s the only way to issue cell phones to all users without this feature.

The new phone features nowadays don't cause those accidents. It is the people who use them irresponsibly that end up in accidents. The law emphasizes how you can't text and drive. They made it a law for a reason; for safety.

I really like my cell phone but it's just a plain cell phone and that's handy to have.

I do agree that the new technology with cell phones have become dangerous factors in people being seriously hurt and/or losing their lives due to negligence while driving.

I like cell phones but they are not my way of life!  They are getting more and more high tech which is good in a way but for the people that don't want all of the data and stuff its a little difficult to be able to get a regular cell phone.  Eventually all that will be available is smart phones.

Personally my cell phone is a part of my daily life and I am lost if I leave it at home.

Yes, some people use them improperly and are completely glued to their phones, but isn't that the same with just about everything?
It's an addiction to some, but not for all and just because some people misuse them doesn't mean everyone should lose the privilege to their phones.
