I like it when I "discover" an artist I never heard before. My new find is a man that calls himself Avid Dancer. There's something about his voice that's so fresh and melodic. I agree there are a lot of great artists on YouTube.

Never ceases to amaze me how much I still enjoy the older music every time I hear it much better than anything I hear now.  I’m just not impressed with any new artist of any genre.  They come across to me as either rip-offs of older artists or just ‘the next big thing’ that no one listens to as soon as another ‘next big thing’ comes out—or worse, they’re just one hit wonders with no staying power despite having it easier with the internet than older artists who had to pay their dues.

I can't stand pop music. Almost all of it has no heart at all. Most of it is just record companys making a whole lot of money off someone who is expendable. >:(

I get copy right laws but the ones YouTube has are ridiculous!  I thought it was a website that would allow you to share videos or songs no matter whether you personally created them or not!  As long as you aren’t making money from, say posting a Beyonce song but just want to share it what is the harm?

While I might agree that unofficial DJ’s, such as my personal favorite DJ Linuxis, remixing songs already copyright, for example remixing Adele’s Hello, then trying to make money off it, since technically it isn’t exactly yours, violates copyright laws, I don’t think it’s right to block them (as in the cast of YouTube).  They are only trying to build a fan base and if they are blocked they can’t really ‘get the word out’ to be picked up by a legit music company since now-a-days that’s how it’s done.

I like so many different kinds of music, it's hard to narrow down. I love finding new artists or music from other countries. I like watching the videos on Youtube for this, it's great.

I'm an old rocker and for me music, in general and speaking of 'groups, is more of a copycat industry. The individuality of bands today is gone. The groups today sound so much alike and in many cases are on the scene for a year or two and then slowly slide out of the limelight. The musicians can't be blamed or at fault for this as the industry pretty much 'dictates' what you're gonna sound like, and if you don't, chances are you're not gonna be around very long. Those who are old enough or listen to classic rock groups from the mid 60s through the 70s. All of them had their own, unique sound as well as most of their tunes. I've been behind the drums for 50 years this December, and I hate to admit it, but I couldn't tell you 3 songs from 10% of the top 40 artists on the charts today!

So glad Martina McBride came out with a new song.  I love ‘Reckless’ and it's just a  perfect to her song collection.

I was listening to ‘Think of you,’ the duet between Chris Young and Cassadee Pope and I was thinking it would have sounded much better with Carrie Underwood.  The reason being that Chris Young is such a power house vocalist that he drowns Cassadee because she has a light, soft voice—though not as soft as Alison Krause.  Poor Cassadee has to sing twice as hard to be heard over Chris’ vocals.  I’m not saying that Cassadee can’t sing, because she can, and she does have a nice voice against Chris’ when they harmonize softly, which is why she would have been better off as a background singer in it than his duet.  Carrie, on the other hand, is a Vocal Power House, I mean just listen to her version of Independence Day—a remake of a song from another Vocal Power House Martina McBride.  You can’t compare those two women to Cassadee vocally.  Cassadee, I think was chosen strategically rather than vocally because she’s the ‘next new big thing’ in country music and Chris, well look how long he’s been out that with all the comments underneath the video being more for her than him it was well chosen.  And all those that defend Cassadee in the song (in the comments underneath the music video) claiming she is perfect for him are her fans getting defensive not open-minded music fans that have an ear for music because if they did they would actually hear what is taking place and that is Chris drowning out Cassadee.  Again, I’m not saying Cassadee can’t sing, she just can’t sing with someone who has a powerful voice, and she knows she does not which is why her songs are great because they match her vocally where as this matches Chris perfectly and she has to sing her butt off to match him where Carrie would not have because she would just naturally match him.
