Actually, lighter skin is more succeptible to skin problems, like cancer. In my opinion, there should be no desireable skin color.

I don't know what you mean by accepted more. It is how it used to be in the past. Nowadays, what I can see is that people prefer lighter individuals in the terms of physical attractiveness. I think that it is more on how elegant, peaceful, soft, and innocent skin on a woman looks depends on skin tone. Also, darker colors have always been a negative symbolism.

I don't know what you mean by lighter skin is more accepted then dark. My skin turns really dark in the summer (hum must be the indian in me) But i have never had any trouble being dark then i have in the winter when some of the tan lightens up. If you are refering to other races, well we were brought up that everyone is equal.

According to whom? Not everyone feels that way but its just opinion who cares. I have brown skin and I would never want to be any lighter.

I don't see where you are getting that from! From what I've seen, people are always trying to tan to make their skin darker. I have very fair skin, and I always get comments about never getting any sun, but it's just because I don't tan well, no matter how long I stay out, although I do burn before I tan, if I get too much sun. And in the winter most people go to tanning booths.
I was beginning to wonder why light skin is not accepted! Maybe in different parts of the country people have different fads?

Glad you feel welcomed in your skin color. To your response of trouble maker, questions are asked and some respond. No one is a trouble maker unless you feel that your being violated!

There  is a lot of people whom feel this way. Sometimes things go unspoken and then it builds up. Then you have people of color second guessing them self.  When they should be reach out and say I mean something too!

Some people think white is good, beautiful  and dark skin is bad and ugly.  I am so glad I was always told black is beautiful.
