Health questions and advice

My mom just had a stroke and she is not getting better, every week we are noticing new health problems.  This is her 3 stroke in the process of the stroke she had a seizure and she has experienced a heart attack.    Just wanted to scream out at anyone who's open!!!

Sorry to hear about your mom, the doctors should be able to let you know what is going on with her. I would not give up until they can say what is causing so many illnesses when she only went in for one. Keep strong for your mom and once again sorry that all these things are happening to your mom.

Go ahead and scream. It is healthy to vent frustrations. Holding in stress can cause physical ailments.

Go ahead and vent. Some people dont understand this. I am a stroke survivor, I had a heart attack. I have also been having seizures for the past 3 years. They have no clue as to why. Has she recently taken any medicine that she didnt take before. For instance I had taken a free sample of alka seltzer cold and sinus medicine in the mail and I took it. That is initally what caused my problems. Certain medicines have been known to cause this. My aunt for instance has been taken off of several different types of medicine due to having hallucinations. You are not alone. Be strong. My prayers are with you and your mother. God bles you.

It is so hard and frustrating dealing with parents and the healthcare system.  I take care of elderly parents and navigating the system and getting answers is so hard sometimes.  It is a helpless feeling and I truly feel for you.  Hang in there.

I understand what it's like to want to "fix" everything but unfortunately we have to accept that there is only so much we can do.

Okay let it out, SCREAM out several times to let out the frustration. This is like a theraphy of the mind. I hope that your mother will keep getting better each day. With a positive mind and Prayer we know that she will be getting better in the year 2013.

When your love one is sick, you will feel helpless and wish you could do something for her. I have that worthless feelings when my mom and dad. Just be there for them and show that you care.. that is all they want.

I went through four years of cancer with my grandmother so I know what you are experiencing.  The last year my brother and I came every day to support and help my mom who was with her 24 hrs a day.  It is difficult and our prayers and hopes are with you and your mom.

I am so sorry. I have been a nurse for the better part of 30+ years. I have had many patients who have suffered a stroke in addition to other health problems. Where is she? At home? In the hospital? Or a nursing home?

I just want to say "Thank You" all for you prays and thoughts, many of days I just want to vent to someone other than those who know me.  But all of your comments are greatly appreciated.

Right now she is at home, almost every week we are going in and getting test done, she is only 54 years young.  They have given her more provider hours and also she now has to sleep in a hospital bed, because she is not getting enough oxygen to her brain and heart.
