I have problems in acne. What are the major factors causing acne and treatment?

Alot of people do something that they don't even give a second thought about throughout their day....THEY TOUCH THEIR FACE-CONSTANTLY!! While eating, exercising, thinking, working. All you are doing is transferring bacteria and germs from your hands and your fingernails to your face. No matter how many times you wash your face, once you go out there and start unconsciously doing those things, your skin remains corrupted with crap. My advice....Wash your hands alot, Go through your daily face washing routine and try to think about how many times you touch your face throughout your day. Cut that down, and your acne should clear up!!

I have had problems with acne for years and I thought I would grow out of it by now but I haven't.  I found this website a few years back, I wish I could find it for you now.  Basically the premise is avoiding trauma to your face as much as possible.  It's a cycle.  You traumatize your face and it fights that by producing oil to protect it, which causes you to break out.  It said basically to wash your face twice a day with a mild soap.  I have used Dial white bar.  Don't scrub your face because that will just make it worse, just use your fingertips to wash and then rinse.  Don't pick at your face (hard to do).  After washing your face gently pat dry (no rubbing!).  Then apply your acne cream.  I use acne free, I think it's called terminator.  It's in an orange squeeze tube.  Put that all over your face and let it absorb (avoid under the eyes, this skin is extra sensitive).  Once it's dry put lotion on your face and neck (fastest aging part of your face).  Use a lotion that won't clog your pores.  I like curel or lubriderm.  Let the lotion absorb into your skin and don't try to rub it in.  Don't be afraid to put a lot on if your face is extra dry.  This is basically it and is way cheaper than Proactiv or any of that other stuff.  I think I get a 6 pack of dial for like $2.50, the acne cream is $6 maybe, and the lotion isn't very expensive either.  If this doesn't work you may need to see a dermatologist because you may have another problem.

well...drink water and eat right, buy products with sulfer,green tea,lavender,aloe vera,chamomile,tea tree oil,zinc,retinyl,urea,etc... and salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide...exfoliate and use masks to unclog pores and make them less visible etc... trust me this really works!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to have acne at a young age and I learned through my own research that what causes acne or skin erruptions is poor illimination of waste from the body.   If one does not have regular illimination of waste and poisons from the body naturally - then it will come out through pores in the skin - usually the face.  Once I started eating foods with lots of fiber and started keeping a close watch on proper and regular illimination - the acne cleared up and never returned.

Well if your parents had a problem with acne then you will also. see a dermotologist for medicine. There was a med called accutane both my kids used it worked very well.then it caused kidney problems and more so they don't give that to people anymore. I would see a doctor though best to ya...

I am 51 years old, was in a serious accident 5 years ago, and now live on very strong drugs, that are causing red blisters forming on the side of my body that was hurt the worse.. almost looks like acme after awhile..Would love to find a cure..

Beyond some things mentioned, I have read/heard a lot about your diet affecting acne or skin conditions. If you do some research I am sure you can find some proven advice on what foods are both good or bad for skin acne.

Go to your doctor and ask about accutane. I had acne for years and after doing a 7 month treat of accutane, I've been acne free for over 3 years now.

it is primariy hormonal and part of puberty, but there are other types. it is best to be evaluated by a doctor and discuss your options.
