I prefer candy. I will be respectful and take the flowers but since the flowers normally don't last but a day I will have to make candy my favorite. I especially like chocolate candy and preferably with some kind of nuts, such as, almonds, pecans, walnuts, peanuts, etc.... It's strange how something so simple as candy can make you feel so good inside  :).

i feel the same way, as long i get something no matter what.  as long they remember that special day and spend time with you.

I've never been big on Valentine's so it doesn't matter too much. Although if I were to get something I'll take the flowers. I like flowers and with flowers I won't be consuming extra calories, haha.

Candy, not into flowers.  I'd rather eat.

I love to receive flowers any day of the year, as I love to give them. So Valentine's day doesn't make it any more special. On Valentine's I like to write out a nice card, make a good "special" dinner with candles, and bake desserts with red colors and heart shaped. Usually there is a little gift to open but not always chocolates or flowers. Once it was movie passes, another time it was a promise ring, I usually buy my nephews little chocolate boxes though. My gifts are always something special like I would give on a birthday on something, it's just to say really that I was thinking of fiance. Depending on the person flowers or chocolate or candy could be welcomed, otherwise any gift that has thought put behind is the best gift in my eyes.

I'd rather have flowers personally but I wouldn't complain if I got candy ;)

I agree with that. I think instead of candy or flowers a good dinner out and some intimate time alone.

I'm 46 and I have never had a man to give me either....I give candy to my children a little box of chocolates and I use to give one to my mom when she was living.....
