Hello everyone! I was just wondering what kind of pets do you have? I am the proud parent of a dog named macey, a bird named buddy and a north american aligator named ollie. I absolutely love them all!!

We have 4 dogs - a pekepoo, a yorkie, a rescue maltese and a rescue lab mix; also a rescue siamese cat, a 3 1/2 foot ball python that my granddaughter bought with her 7th birthday money and a 1 1/2 foot rescue sand boa constrictor. ( I don't guess my 88 year old father who I had to take to live with us counts ).

Sounds like fun at your house!  I currently am the parent (although I sometimes feel as though I'm the pet and SHE's the parent lol) of a rescued kitten (I rescued the kitten from a neighbor who decided the way to control stray cats is to kill them all!) named TigerPrincess.  She runs my house, dosen't know she is a cat (thinks she's a dog) has her own table for eating and insists that she is the last one to go to bed at night!  No kidding, if someone is awake in the house at night, she will come sit and look in your face until you go to bed!  She answers the door, runs top speed through the house when bored (she likes to slide on the wood floors lol) and eats everything from chicken to greens, to cabbage, carrots and her favorite, barbecue ribs! But absolutely NO FISH!  She will turn her nose up at any sign or smell of fish! Oh, and she simply adores MEN!  The male species to her is what she wants!  She flirts with any male that comes to the house...purring, small meowing, batting her eyes!  She is amazing and excellent company.  We are never at a loss of entertainment with TigerPrincess around! We've only had her for about 6 months, but can't think what we would do if she weren't around. :cat:

Wow...I thought I had a zoo..lol...I think that a rescued pet is the best way to go! Every single pet that I have is one that was going to be given to the shelter or "dropped off" somewhere...I am a sucker for the animals!  ;D

The only problem we have had is when the ball python got out of her new cage last week and it took me 24 hours to find her ( snakes are good at hiding ).  My 88 year old father freaked out and we had to keep the yorkie locked up for her, and the snake's safety.  Yorkies were bred to kill rats but I'm sure she would go after the snake.  It couldn't eat her but it probably could kill her. Lulu, the snake was VERY unhappy when I used a battery powered screwdrive to take apart the light fixture that she had gotten into and that I couldn't get her out of.  She did not strike at me but she sure did hiss!  She has a new, extra secure lock.

Oh wow! Sounds like a funtime searching for the snake! I had an albino python once that was about 5 ft. in length..who did the same thing..escaped from her tank..once I woke up to her in my bed and another time she was behind the dryer...kinda freaky. I had to give her to a friend because I just couldnt feed her..I felt too bad for the rats! Wow cowgirl, a golden retriever! They are beautiful but sooooo hyper!!! I have never had a golden retriever but I have had a black lab and she drove me insane..lol..she was so hyper and chewed EVERYTHING!! She was very smart though. She could open my car doors with her snout and jump in...I guess you'd have to see it to believe it though..lol..

My family has two dogs, two cats, two horses, four turtles, a Betta fish, and a squirrel. The last one is my rehabilitation "project" because she fell out of the nest and I've had to nurse her, so I guess she's not really a "pet."

Alligator?!?!?!  I thought people made up the fact that people keep them as pets for the sewer myth.

I have 2 cats - MaiTai (DSH) and Mojito (DMH), and a dog named Wrigley (mutt).

No myth..lol..they actually sell them at the pet store here...which I cant say I agree with because not everyone is responsible with them..I know I cant keep him forever, but when he gets to be a certain size I plan on donating him to the zoo. We have had him for over 2 years now and he is about 2 1/2 ft. long. We did not go out and buy him..a friend of ours son bought him and no longer wanted to care for him so he's one of those pity pets that I have grown to love (strange hugh) We also kinda took in his 6ft. iguana mary jane who was sick and needed medical treatment...like I said b4..I am a sucker for the animals. Kudos to you 16lauren for taking in your pet squirrel! I think that is so awesome because alot of people dont even bother.

Hi! Not only am I new to this site, but I'm also a pet owner/lover. I currently own two cats, and a dog. Awbela, Loki, and Sesshoumaru. I love all animals. Previously, I've owned five Rabbits Jacky, Salt, Pepper, Papa, and Mamma (Not including when they had babies, at one point we had thirty rabbits at once.) three roosters Cluck, Chuck, and Buck, forty-nine cats... Not naming them all, I doubt I could honestly remember all of them anyways. I just remember how many we had, not including the three last litters of kittens, just before we gave them all away, three dogs Bear, Pumpkin, and Sam, three birds Trinket, Treasure, and the baby wasn't named.(The baby, had fallen from its nest, never could find out where it had fallen.) A Baby squirrel named Chiquito, which is peruvian for "Small one" or "Little one" Found him in my back yard. Was very interesting, since he just walked up to me and looked at me with his big brown eyes. So adorable, I couldn't resist. Seven aquatic frogs. Only one was named: Frog Morton, A Plecostomus (sp?) Named Smoochie, two snakes Rupert and Frodo, a rat Feivel, and seventeen pigs Rosie, *bleep*, and their piglets. Didn't name the babies. All of the animals listed above, I had at the same time. It was harsh taking care of them all, the food bill alone was immense. XD

As I'm sure you all can tell, I love animals. I hope to someday soon, become a vet. ^^
