My feeling is that there needs to be more regulation and background checks.  Some people just should not be allowed to own guns.

Honestly, I think gun control measures will not work.  Why?  Because people can make guns at home from a variety of objects and materials.  Youtube it, and you will see.  There is a video of a gun made of a block of wood and a piece of brake line.

People who do NOT obey laws will continue to NOT obey laws.  Gun control will not keep guns away from criminals.  They will still get a hold of them.  They will steal them, buy them on the black market, or make them.

Gun control will also not do anything to curb violence.  In countries where guns are completely banned, there are still acts of violence.  There are mass killings.  Except, in those cases they are done with "melee" weapons, such as machetes, axes, hammers, knives, bats, etc.

Well, they are blaming a weapon instead of the mentally disturbed people who use them. Violence cannot be stopped and disarming law-abiding people who would be unable to defend themselves is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of.

Hahahaha!  Yes.  This is the biggest problem.  Most people who are mentally disturbed, especially those with ASPD do NOT seek help.  They do not feel they have a problem.  So, many of these people may not have a diagnosis.  Many people who are diagnosed are diagnosed after they have committed a crime.  People with Antisocial Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and other personality disorders often do not believe they need help.  Of these disorders, Antisocials (sociopaths) are the most violent.

And contrary to popular belief, Schizophrenics are rarely violent.

You can take away all the guns you want but those that are intent on harming another person will find a way. Yes we have had some  gun viloence, but what about all the mistakes in the hospital that kills over 100,000 a year, or all the women that abort their babies, is that not muder also. I feel sorry for the families of the gunned down loved ones, but there is a lot more out there that being murder in other ways.

My opinion is that there should be guns in the schools. With training people who know how to use! It should could be trained teacher who has a gun in their desk or it could be one of the custodians who have a gun on hidden someplace where you get to it easily! That way if somebody come in there and start shooting! He could get the government taken out or the teacher could have the gunman under control or dead before the policeman can get there!

It is also my opinion that people should be allowed to carry guns even in the airports to protect themselves. If they notify the carrier they are armed men won't be any trouble those hijackers just used a box if there had been something with a gun on that plane that could shot the hijackers and able to crash into theWorld Trade Centerm

I like this answer.  Until our country starts taking mental illness seriously people will still get guns that shouldn't have them.  I'm not sure what would make it easier to identify people who shouldn't have guns (besides people with violent crimes on their record) but taking away guns from law abiding people isn't the answer.  Criminals will still get guns whether they steal them, buy them at a gun show or off the black market, or use fake identification.  That's why they're criminals, they don't follow the law.

People rights should be protected by the Constitution....I do not believe in the government taking away our rights. That's all I am gonna say about the matter.

Gun control in America is really a farce; a hypocritical attempt by our goverment to slowly disarm America so the communist can take over.

I think people should be allowed to have guns. But I don't think the average person needs an assault rifle.

Hello  I know that many peoples life have been taken away with guns. But guns don't kill citizens people kill people. If we were to take away citizens right to bear arms criminals will just find another way to kill people. There are many ways to kill people without using a weapon. So if people want to kill someone they will find a way (where there's a will theres a way). Allowing citizens to have a gun give them a way to protect themselves. I don't see nothing wrong with that. :dontknow:

There's no reason anyone should own an assault rifle.  No one is ever going to justify that to me.
