Lol those in favor for no gun control, imagine a world where everyone you walked past was armed. The way our human emotions run on primal instincts, we'd be shooting each other up in no time. You look at an elementary kid the wrong way and he'll blow your brains out, that's not the kind of world I want to live in.

"Mentally Disturbed", you ever wonder how people get that way in the first place? Oh yeah, it's us "normal" people who either ignore them or pick on them in our herd mentality bullying that gets them to that point.

You don't know what you are talking about.  I got to gun shows all the time and we are all armed. It is the most polite place I have ever been to. So don't talk from your  :bootyshake:...

Of course I don't know what I'm talking about, because I don't live in a world where everyone can have guns like nothing. I used an extreme example, but this is not too far off from what people in the lower class neighborhoods infested with gangs go through. Could you send your daughter or son to school knowing everyone in the neighborhood is packing heat? I dare anyone to answer that question honestly, without bringing up their "freedoms" or "one off examples of nothing going bad". These people want better to leave these dangerous neighboorhoods to go to safer urban areas...oh but wait there is no concept of safe anymore...because we're all armed.

I'm glad nobody shot each other up at your gun show, but that's just one situation out of billion. You don't want your rights taken away, but then you also live with the consequences. Might as well not have police or a military right...because we can all be armed and protect ourselves. If we can have guns, why not be able to have armed tanks and bombs, its our "right" no?

Better regulations. We should still be able to own a gun but I think there needs to be better regulations.

A. I live in Atlanta.  B. If everyone had guns the good people with guns would out number those that are bad that have guns. So yeah ...

There's no reason anyone should own an assault rifle.  No one is ever going to justify that to me.
I soooo agree with this comment.  I have been raised by a dad who was a police officer for over 30 years and I am so glad that he is retired now.  The criminals have better fire power than most of the police officers do.  I don't understand why some people feel the need to have an assault rifle that fires 60 rounds in a matter of seconds.  If your a hunter you don't need 60 rounds in seconds.  It seems to me the only people that want these assault rifles around are the bad guys.  My heart goes out to the family's of all shooting victims.  No one should ever have to live through that an I hope none of us do.

I also feel that  there needs to be more regulations and background checks. It way to easy to get your hands on this "military weapons".
What is your definition of "military weapons?" Practically all rifles used today are based on designs that were originally invented for the military, and used as military guns before they became civilian rifles.
More regulations only make it harder for law abiding citizens to aquire what they have a right to get and use. They do nothing to stop violent crime, in fact, they make it easier for the criminals to commit their crimes.
There's nothing wrong with background checks, but the new definition of "background check" includes registration, as well as suspension of due process, and other Constitutional violations.

I believe it is every American's right to own guns and firearms.  However, I do not believe we need automatic assault rifles/guns.  I am a license concealed weapons carrier and I carry a handgun with me everywhere I go.  Although I live in a fairly safe community, you never know who/what may wonder in from outside my community.  I would not hesitate in a split second to use it if my life or the lives of my loved ones were in danger.
So your handgun is a revolver? If it's a semi-automatic, than it is just as much of an "assault weapon" as an AR-15. It might be shorter and not look "tactical," but the basic functioning principle is the same, one shot fired for every trigger pull.
As a CCW permit holder, you don't know the difference between and automatic rifle and a semi-automatic one? Or are you just spouting off media lies without even thinking about what you are saying. There are very few people in this country who own automatic rifles. They are prohibitivly expensive, and highly regulated and taxed by the ATF. But semi-automatics are very common hunting and target shooting rifles.

You people obviously have no concept of what an assault rifle really is. Just because a rifle has some cosmetic features that make it look tactical doesn't make it any more lethal. In fact, you can dress up almost any rifle to look like an "assault rifle." Real assault rifles are select fire, or fully automatic, meaning that as long as the trigger is squeezed, the bullets will come out. But the media has brainwashed people into thinking that semi-automatic rifles, which fire only one shot every time the trigger is squeezed, are "automatic assault rifles." In fact, semi-automatic rifles are used by millions of hunters and target shooters, for many reasons, including less recoil, easier handling, and accuracy. Standard capacity magazines, which are called high capacity magazines by the media, are very useful and convenient for target practice, and could mean the difference between life and death in a multiple home invader situation.
I noticed in an earlier post that LuckyDutch claimed that high-powered rifles are not necessary for hunting. Apparently he doesn't hunt big game. There are many high-powered big game rifles that are commonly used that are far more deadly than what are commonly called "high-powered" assault rifles. I work at a factory that makes big game hunting rifles, and I know what I'm talking about.

We no longer have creative thinking in the US, that used to be a subject in College, I don't even know if they have it anymore. We kneejerk everything!. There is no thought put behind any laws, they just write them and pass them. Remember someone saying, you've got to pass it to know what's in the bill. Now everyone is screaming and complaining about the law that no one read. This is the way it is getting, so the people that say that the Government is not trying to take away your 2nd amendment rights better look again at that statement. The affordable health care act of 2010 was suppose to lower the price of health care premiums and give you better health care overall. Both of these statement have been proven to be false, so if you want another law pushed on you that no one wants to explain or debate, better look out. This is the way Politicians work, push something out after a crisis when emotions are mixed over the situation. Connecticut already pass a law, this is the way it should be, left to the states to decide their own fate.

Exactly! This term "Assault Rifle" and "Military Weapons" are thrown around like Garbage. I spent 22 years in the Military and used anything from a "45cal hand gun" to a "50 cal" I don't see any of those out on the streets!! You can define any weapon as a "Assault Weapon" and probably about 95 percent as a "Military Weapon". Terms are getting thrown around that can mean any weapon that is produced. I consider a "Missile" a Military weapon but, I don't see anyone strapping one of those to their Back.
