One would have to ask WHY???  Are they running away from something or someone?  Do they need help?  Our first reaction is negative, but we don't know the whole story

They could be on the run from law enforcement, creditors etc.  They may also be so financially (or otherwise) unstable that they aren't paying their rent and getting evicted from places.  This is why it hurts your credit when you move around constantly.

Why are they moving so often? I know people that do move very frequently for work so it's not always a reason not to trust someone

Sounds like it would depend on the situation. To not help a friend on the principle of frequency alone would be wrong.

Having worked for someone that had some apartment buildings, you would havea person or family pay their deposit and then not pay any rent for 3-4 months and have to evict them. It is a way of life for some.

A person like that wants to live at your house, eat your food, and do what they want.  They get mad when you tell them it is time to go.  I have a cousin who stayed with me, moved her boyfriend in, and I discovered later that she owed loan sharks money and they turned up on my door looking for her.  My husband at the time told her she had to go.  I told her boyfriend he had to go.   My husband felt she was freeloading.  I later loaned her $50 and haven't gotten it yet.

They are probably not the kind of tenant you would want. Its really sad to have to live that way especially if you have kids.

If a person moves every three months then there is a serious problem there. People need stability. Moving is unavoidable but that is ridiculous. I only moved once in my life and that was when I was 18. Moving is hard and stressful. I couldn't imagine what that would be like every three months. And I'm not sure what you meant by not helping them out...
