Radio Loyalty killing my computer!
« on: June 15, 2013, 09:17:27 pm »
I can listen to Radio Loyalty, or I can do tasks, or surveys or anything else, but I can't do both.

The fan on my PC runs constantly while I'm on RL, and it quits as soon as I click out of it.  :(

The simple answer is get a new computer, or at least make sure you have over 2Gb of ram (preferably 4Gb). Another option to try is run Linux on a thumb drive and see what it does there.

I have 2Gb of ram.

But I am putting money aside for a new computer. When I get one I can use, I'm gonna see about experimenting with Linux on this one.

Great ideas, both of them.

I know what you are talking about.  I can run Radio Loyalty on my desktop -- by itself.  My pc has 1.25 GB ram and 2.8 GHz speed.  It's usually running at  less than 50% cpu when only music is playing, but frequently is at 100% when video ads and/or the captcha shows up.

I use Firefox and XP with Avast as my security system.

My laptop, however, has 8 GB ram, Window 7, Avast, and RL runs okay along side several other sites.  Can't run it effectively when I run games that also rely on Adobe flash.

Decisions, decisions.

I have my fair share of issues too.  Thankfully, my laptop is fairly new.  I wouldn't have even tried RL on my step-above-a-paperweight desktop.  It still crashes my flash/shockwave often and I frequently have to readjust my shockwave and adobe settings (due to RL I have personally come to conclude).  I do love this offer, but I can get a tad frustrated.  Last week it crashed every time it was bringing up the captcha.  Which I have just started automatically reloading.  If I don't catch the captcha within a minute or so of it popping up, it says I typed it wrong.  Even if it's an opinion one with a pull down menu lol.  It will definitely slow other things down on my computer if I have it up though.  I was playing a game of mahjong and it was delaying my game sooooo bad when it was captcha time.  The tab with "load" for minutes until I click on the page and do the captcha and let it settle.  But I use Chrome and I don't have too many problems with it messing up aside from what I mentioned.  Some days are better than others.  I have less issues once they did that captcha override however.

Yes, I have some of the same issues but I cannot afford to get another computer right now. Radio Loyalty causes my flash player to stop and I have to reload. It gets really frustrating but I just keep at it. If you can get another computer that sounds like a great solution. I know I would get another PC if I could but that is just not feasible right now.

I've got a 2 year old computer - 4gb  and after the first few times I played music it was fitful; but after that  it has been running smoothly.  However, I don't try and run it all day.  I listen to it for maybe 40 minutes.  :fish:

Guess I have been lucky with my computer. It's about 3 years old and works great. I listen to Radio Loyalty and sometimes listen to over 20 songs. I play my ipad while I listen. Guess you could say I am multi tasking.

How do you readjust the shockwave and adobe settinngs?
And how did it improve your PC's response?

What are you referring to when you say "They did that captcha override."?

I'm looking for ways to improve my PC's capacity while I'm running RL.

I'm lucky mine works at all..I'm not sure how old it is, but when I unplug it (during thunderstorms), the date reverts to December 2001.  :o

Guess I'll just keep poking along with it til I can make enough to get a newer one

I do the same too.  But I don't listen to RL that offend.  Maybe 1-2 time every week.  Because it causing my computer run so slow.  I use to do a lot of work on computer so no patient for lagging.

I seem to have those issues also, when I am playing RadioLoyalty my system seems to run slow or crash and I have to start over with the work I am doing and also radioloyalty.  This makes us lose out on money when your code is up or about to come up and it crashes. :angry7:
